Hi Im Heather and I have been a registered childminder since August 2011. My setting was graded "6 - Excellent" by the Care Inspectorate. I am fully qualified (SVQ3: SCQF level 7 children and young people) and insured.
I offer a safe, fun, fun, fun educational, flexible, home from home environment with an emphasis on outdoor learning and play!
I have an enclosed child focused back garden including a large nature play area to keep kids amused and plenty of toys, games and books indoors. I provide lots of arts and crafts, baking, messy play, outdoor play and take the children on outings to the park, the woods, library, soft play, toddlers groups and our allotment. I plan all activities around the childrens interests and abilities but also like to challenge them to try new things.
Parents are always encouraged to be involved and give feedback and ideas as you are the one who knows your child best. I work as a team with parents to meet the childs needs as best we can.
My service is all about providing a home from home, where the children feel comfortable and safe..and parents have the peace of mind that their child is in a loving, stimulating, learning environment.
I run a toddlers group in Beechbank community centre on Tuesday mornings and one in Coatbridge on a Friday... and outdoor play session(Muddy Boots) on a Wednesday.
I have built a large outdoor nature play area called Muddy boots and we have an allotments for the children to learn about growing our own fruit/vegetables and also grow produce in the garden with the kids.
I ACCEPT CHILDCARE VOUCHERS AND FUNDED PLACES!
I CAN ALSO PROVIDE UPTO 30 HOURS FREE CHILDCARE FOR 3/4 YEAR OLDS AND VULNERABLE 2S THROUGH 1140 HOURS FUNDING. YOU CAN ALSO USE MYSELF IN PLACE OF / OR TOGETHER WITH A NURSERY FOR 3/4 YEAR OLDS AND STILL HAVE IT FULLY FUNDED BY NLC.
My Experience
I have 2 children of my own, Scott aged 16 and Abbie 21 our adorable cocker spaniel /labrador cross Flynn.
I love the challenge of working with children of all ages and encouraging them to make good/healthy choices.. and promoting resilience and self confidence.
My Qualifications
GRADED 6- EXCELLENT BY CARE INSPECTORATE IN AUGUST 2017.
Fully qualified SVQ level 3(SCQF level 7) children & young people and fully insured. I am a member of the Scottish Childminding Association and PVG scheme. I am also a member of Early years Scotland.
I am on North Lanarkshire councils list of approved childcare providers for eligible 2 year old funding and daycare... AND CAN PROVIDE UPTO 30 HOURS PER WEEK FULLY GOVERNMENT FUNDED SPACES FOR 3/4 YEAR OLDS AND VULNERABLE 2S
I am a very patient, experienced mother of 2 and love to have fun with the children and make them laugh!
I run a 'child-led'/nature inspired play service meaning that I plan and adapt activities/outings around the childrens interests and abilities.. but also like to challenge them to try new and exciting things in the great outdoors.
I am fully qualified and trained in paediatric first aid and child protection.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
£5.50 per hour (minimum charge of 5 hours per day)
Before school £5(8 til 8.55)
After school care is charged at £15 (3-5.30pm).

Heather has been looking after my son for the last year and he absolutely adores her and her family.
Always looks forward to his days here and in his words....there's always lots of fun things to do and has better toys than our house.
A solid 10/10 rating from both myself and my son.

Heather has been my daughters childminder for almost a year now and I'm delighted I found her. Alexis loves going to Heathers because its always fun and they do loads of different things so she's never bored. As a parent its great to know that my child is safe, loved and having great fun. 100% recommend

Just a quick review to say a very big thank you to Heather and her family for the excellent care she gave to my children. I had to work through the lovely hot summer in 2013. My kids had the pleasure of spending the summer with Heather and her kids and had a brilliant time. Thank you for all you help and educational support. :-)
