My Summary
About Me
I have worked in primary schools, undertaking teacher training in the past year, and since been working on a supply basis. If you need childcare for weekends, evenings and during half terms, I am very much available! I was fortunate enough to be apart of SCITTELS (School Centred Initial Teacher training in East London Schools), however I am now looking to take up part-time or full-time nannying as it’s the path that led me into teaching. I am knowledgable of the KS1 & 2 National Curriculum, as I have taught lessons against the objectives in Year One and Year Four classes. I have overlooked on interventions at an Additional Resource Provision, that was apart of my previous school which took a therapeutic approach enabling children to self-regulate, and worked with children with challenging needs, from ASD to behavioural issues, but I would now love to increase my knowledge in this position. Whilst working as a student teacher based in Year 4, I have observed and liaised with a range of experienced practitioners in EYFS, KS1+2, and have taken part in interventions such as phonics with groups of children in Reception and Year One, planning and delivering lessons, and increasing my subject knowledge across the year groups. My behaviour management strategies align to the schools policy, always positively reinforced. I have had some experience as a TA as well, where I attained competent knowledge of classroom support experience, and exhibit excellent behaviour management skills, as well as have extensive knowledge on Safeguarding. I have a degree in Nutrition and Health (BSc), and now would love the opportunity to work again with children in a nursery environment, promoting their wellbeing, and encouraging them positively, something I’d appreciate doing greatly and have experience doing at Bright Horizons Nursery. I have always had an affinity towards helping others and know that such a role cannot be understated in terms of support and care. I would love the opportunity to have an interview for this role as I have a wealth of experience looking after children up until the age of 11, I hope to hear from you soon.
Kind regards,
Maiya
My Experience
I was employed through acknowledgement of my responsible nature to babysit for a full-time working family. I took care of two young girls aged four and seven which require efficient time-management skills by:
-Over-sighting of behaviour, ensuring that the children follow their routine and timetables
-Supporting with homework, preparing and cooking healthy, balanced meals, putting kids to bed
-Working patiently under pressure
-Creating fun, creative and educational activities to play together
I have prepared bottle milk and changed nappies for a prior babysitting job I had for a one and half year old boy, and have done many nursery and school drop offs and pick ups. I have a DBS, on the update service and references from an assistant head teacher, and parents of whom I have babysat their children.
My Qualifications
I have a degree in Nutrition & Health (BSc), from the University of Roehampton.
