My Experience

Hello! I'm a warm, experienced, and highly capable childcare professional with a lifelong passion for working with children and families. I’m a qualified teacher with a rich background in education, community development, and one-to-one childcare. I'm also in the early stages of a distance-learning PhD in English and Creative Writing, which allows me the flexibility to support a family in a nanny or babysitting role while continuing my academic journey.

My career in childcare began as a nanny — a role I loved so much it inspired me to go on and gain teaching qualifications. Since then, I’ve worked extensively in schools, community settings, and universities as a teacher, lecturer, and youth support worker. Throughout, I’ve continued to provide childcare to families, and to date I’ve worked with over six families in a nanny capacity, all of whom have given excellent feedback and provided glowing references. I've also regularly babysat for a wide range of families over the years.

I'm a proud mother of three grown-up children, whom I raised largely single-handedly, and I’m incredibly proud of the people they’ve become. My life experience and professional training mean I bring empathy, resilience, and a nurturing approach to every family I work with.

I offer a calm, creative, and organised presence in the home, with a strong ability to engage children in fun, stimulating, and educational activities. Whether it’s helping with homework, cooking healthy meals, storytelling, imaginative play, crafts, or outdoor adventures — your child/ren will be supported to thrive. I also gently encourage healthy eating, care for the environment, and good manners, and always aim to foster kindness and confidence.

I am looking for regular, flexible work to complement my PhD studies. I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate, Level 2 Food Hygiene, and nanny insurance. I'm also happy to assist with light household tasks when time allows, such as cooking, ironing, and tidying.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
