My Requirements
I'm looking for a Registered Childminder. Every mon and Tues and 1 Wednesday a month. My child is currently 7 months and am looking for a childminder from December. I live near hitchin station area and would like to find a childminder in hitchin. I would require early mornings 7:30am starts too.

I am afraid that I did not have a positive experience with Claire as my childminder. Initially when I visited I was impressed with the look of the setting, the facilities I was shown and the account of the activities that were undertaken with the children. My daughter completed her settling sessions just fine before Christmas and I was told she was settled, then after just 2 days of starting there, unfortunately I was given immediate notice that the setting was closing due to the fact that her family were shielding. I waited until beginning of March when the setting opened up again, and my daughter didn’t settle so well the second time round despite me giving several suggestions to help. My handover at the end of every day was negative and made me feel like my baby was a problem, which wasn’t great for me either. Then, after my daughter only attending 6 sessions over a 3 week period, I received an email from Claire to say that she was giving me notice with immediate effect stating that she had a duty of care to the other children she was looking after, and therefore could no longer look after my daughter. In my opinion this was unprofessional, and by not giving me notice it was in breach of her contract with me, leaving me with no childcare at all. My daughter is now well settled and happy in a local day nursery, but this was a very stressful situation for me and I would hate for it to happen to someone else.
