About Me
My name is Holly Martin, I am 21 years old, I come from a close family. I am one of four and have a good relationship with all of my siblings. I have always loved looking after children and also animals, ever since I was a young child in primary school I used to take part in looking after the younger children in the school, and I also helped out in the nursery. I am a warm and nurturing person, I believe that working with children is what I am destined to do.
My Experience
I began working with children at the age of 16, since then I have worked with a number of families, I have also spent time working in a nursery setting.
Working with young children (3 months – 5 years old) involves a lot of awareness, and quick thinking. It also involved a wide range of activities including hide and seek, painting and or drawing, board games (depending on age) and reading. We also did outdoor activities (if available), football, catch, skipping and a variety of other outdoor sports.
With the families I have worked with, I would also babysit evenings, where I would be required to cook a meal and sometimes feed the child (depending on age). I would sometimes have to put the child to bed, and I would have to bathe them. I also have experience sterilising bottles, making bottles and giving the baby bottles. Working with a baby meant I had to get the baby to sleep at the right times depending on sleeping schedule.

My Qualifications
I have a NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in counselling skills for children and young people.
I have a Level 2 certificate in Care Counselling Course for children and young people. This course covers the psychological side of working with children, and is about the behaviour of children and understanding how the young mind works. The main part of the course is building healthy self-esteem in children. I’ve also obtained a Level 2 in Business and Level 1 English and Maths. I also am fully qualified in paediatric first aid.
I have studied a safeguarding course. I have studied helping children learn through visuals and the importance of 1-1 time with young children.
