My Summary
About Me
Hello! My name is Yvonne, and I’m an experienced, caring and reliable babysitter with a passion for helping children thrive. I have over 20 years’ experience working with children, mainly through my career as a primary school teacher and senior leader. I’m friendly, creative and approachable, and I genuinely enjoy building positive relationships with both children and families.
I love making activities fun and engaging—whether that’s through creative play, baking together, art projects, or supporting with homework. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust, and I take pride in offering a calm, nurturing and dependable presence for the children I care for.
My Experience
I began teaching in 2007 after gaining a First Class Honours Degree in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status. Since then, I’ve worked in a range of primary schools across Shropshire and the West Midlands, teaching children from Nursery to Year 6.
Before qualifying as a teacher, I worked in a day nursery as a nursery nurse, giving me extensive early years experience and a strong foundation in supporting children’s development from birth onwards. Over the years, I’ve cared for children from 0–11 years old, with a particular specialism in supporting those aged 3–7.
The majority of my teaching career has been spent working with Reception-aged children, where I developed a deep understanding of early learning, play-based education and child-led exploration. As the leader of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) department in a large primary school, I was responsible for ensuring a nurturing and inspiring start to school life for every child.
I am also a mother to a young child, which has deepened my understanding of children’s emotional needs and the importance of trust, patience and consistency in childcare. I appreciate first-hand how valuable it is for families to find reliable and caring support.
I now work with college students who have additional needs, helping them to access and succeed in their programmes of study. This role has further strengthened my ability to adapt to individual needs and support a wide range of learners with care and sensitivity.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported many children with additional and special educational needs (SEN). These have included a wide range of learning, communication, social, emotional and sensory needs — for example, dyslexia, ADHD, autism, PDA, speech and language difficulties, anxiety and hearing or visual impairments. I take a calm, patient and understanding approach, always tailoring support to each child’s individual strengths and needs.
In addition to my teaching experience, I’m skilled in art and design and love incorporating creativity into play and learning. Babysitting allows me to continue doing what I love most — creating a safe, fun and supportive environment for children to grow, explore and flourish.
