About Me
Hi, I’m Alison – Qualified Primary Teacher & Tutor in Maidstone.
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher and experienced tutor based in Maidstone. I am married and a parent of two, which gives me a real understanding of the challenges families face when balancing school, work, and home life.
I have over eight years of classroom experience teaching children from Reception through to Year 6, covering all areas of the Primary National Curriculum. This includes supporting pupils with the Phonics Screening Check, the Year 2 and Year 6 SATs and the Multiplication Tables Check. In addition, I have more than 3.5 years experience as a tutor, working with children of varying ages and needs, and helping many successfully prepare for and pass the 11+ examination.
I believe every child is unique and learns best when lessons are tailored to their individual needs, interests, and pace. My approach focuses on making learning enjoyable, boosting confidence, and addressing any challenges in a supportive way. I also work closely with parents and carers to ensure learning continues effectively at home.
I enjoy creating engaging, fun lessons and am committed to going the extra mile to help every child reach their full potential.

My Experience
I am a qualified teacher and an experienced tutor, supporting children from Reception to Year 6.
I have helped students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs, to make progress across the Primary National Curriculum and achieve success in the 11+, Phonics Screening Check, SATs and the Multiplication Tables Check.
With a background as a Teaching Assistant, one-to-one tutor, and Childminder, I bring a wealth of practical experience and a nurturing approach.
I am training to become a speech and language therapist, to further enhance my ability to support children’s learning and communication skills.
As a parent myself, I understand school expectations and the challenges children face. My goal is to build confidence, strengthen skills, and make learning enjoyable every step of the way.

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Primary) PGCE
Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Childhood Studies
Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce.
