About Me

Hello, My name is Vicky. Im 33 years old and live in Scarborough. I am now looking for a family who is in need of a nanny.

I am a mother to three children, two attend school during the day and a baby who is 4 months old, so I would like to be able to take my own children to school and pick them up, although this is not essential as I have the use of before and after school care. I would also like to take my baby with me. I am able to start in september.

I have been working in childcare for 14 years, ranging from a nursery practitioner to a room leader in a busy successful day nursery. My most recent role is deputy manager of a preschool and I have carried this role for over a year now.

I am enthusiastic and have a passion for childcare. I am energetic and have excellent people skills. During my time I have gained experience working with all ages starting from 3 months - 4 years.
I am a team player possessing valuable experience working with children aged between 3 months - 4 years, ensuring that they are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. I have always been passionate about providing first-class childcare to children under my supervision.

I hold a Level 3 NVQ in childcare, First aid and child protection.
My son is neurodivergent, which has given me the experience in supporting children with additional needs especially children with autism.

I am looking for a family who requires a nanny during the day between 9 am and 3 pm ideally term time only, or reduced days during the holidays.

My Experience

July 2010 - September 2020
I have worked in a busy day nursery in my local area. I started as a nursery assistant with a Level 2 NVQ in childcare. I then Achieved a Level 3 NVQ in childcare and worked myself up to become a nursery practitioner, room senior and then a successful Room Leader.
During my time I have gained experience working with all ages starting from 3 months - 4 years.
I have an enthusiastic attitude and worked hard to ensure good practice was demonstrated across all areas of the nursery, from planning quality activities to communicating with parents and liaising with other staff. Presently I have started a degree in education studies part-time and looking for a part-time role to support me during my studies.
My duties working in the nursery were to look after the children primarily in my care. this included changing nappies, assisting with toilet training, giving bottles, and helping teach children to use cutlery swell as other aspects of children's development. Along with taking an active role in caring for the children, other duties were to plan activities for the children every week along with intense strict cleaning of the nursery, including washing.
My duties as a Room Leader were to ensure all my staff team conducted themselves professionally. I was responsible for the welfare of all children in my designated room, and organised systems to provide consistent, high-quality care for the children. I mentored staff effectively and maintained staff to child ratio always. I lead the planning and provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensured my room was well-resourced and creatively set up, ensuring the room was welcoming and a fun environment for the children.
I worked in partnership with all the parents/carers to maintain and build relationships and encouraged trust open communication and involvement with the nursery. I assisted in developing and supporting other staff members by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and experience, delegating tasks appropriately, identifying training needs, and leading meetings, inductions and one-to-one with support from the nursery management teams.

Achievements:
