My Summary

My Experience

I have about 13 years of experience woking with children, both in school setting and as a babysitter/nanny. I truly enjoy working with children and their energy and curiosity of the world is something i find both inspiring and wholesome.

I'm currently working for a school in Barnes (I have QTS and a Bachelor's degree in Education). This academic year I’ve been a mentor for year 1 but I also teach some classes in year 2, 3 and 5.

Before getting a role in a school, I worked with various teaching agencies where I did daily supply teaching in schools across London. I value that experience greatly and had the fortunate to teach in lovely schools all from reception class to year 6.

For over a year I worked in a nursery school in Putney where cared for children aged 1-2. My duties included planning activities in line with the EYFS and to create a vibrant and curious environment where the children could explore with all their senses.

I have also experience being a nanny for different families in London with children between the ages 1-13.

When I was 19, I lived in Jersey, CI, with a lovely family and cared for their 7-year old son and helped look after their dog. As he was a big fan of different sports we used to play football together and go for bike rides. We also played board games, painted and did different arts and crafts. As Jersey is an island and we lived close to the beach, we'd spend a lot of time on the beach building sand castles, swimming and goofing around. When living in Jersey I drove the car that was provided. I also helped with the day-to-day tasks such as shopping for food, helping with home work and walking the dog.

My experience being a nanny was simmular to being an au pair, although I was a live out nanny. I'd help out with home work, taking the children to different activities and after-school clubs. I also did a lot of meal prep and enjoyed the variety of the tasks I was asked to do.

I also have about three years worth of experience working for different nurseries in both Sweden and England. The children I have cared for have been between 1-5 years old. I had a great time working with children and was inspired to go in to the childcare career.

At university I studied primary education and have since worked as a class teacher for different schools in Sweden (aged 6-9) and have planned lessons in line with the curriculum. I have also worked for a Swedish school in London for about 6 months. I was teaching Swedish to children between age 2-11 years old.

My Qualifications

At university I studied primary education and various subjects including maths, Swedish, English, social studies, science etc. I aslo have in-depht knowledge about reading and writing development after completing my Thesis in my final year of University.

I have since University worked as a class teacher for different schools in Sweden (aged 6-9) and have planned lessons in line with the curriculum. After graduating University I studied a course on how to teach a second language (English to Swedish children) and what aspects to consider. These include pronunciation, grammar, enunciation and many more. This knowledge was particularly important in my important and useful in my job as a Swedish teacher for a school in London where I taught Swedish to English/Swedish children. I worked there for about 6 months as it was a short term contract. I was teaching Swedish to children between age 2-11 years old and planned activities to improve their Swedish vocabulary.

In my current job I have taken a safe guarding course and have learned about the British ways and values and teaching.

The childcare aspect doesn't differ much between Sweden and England, however the school system is very different. This is also something I have gained a bigger understanding of since moving here. For example, the curriculum is different at nurseries in Sweden from England. At my current job (nursery school) I care for children aged 1-2 and plan activities in line with the EYFS and create a vibrant and curious environments where the children can explore with all their senses.

My Availability

As I work full time I'm available during evenings (5/6pm and onwards) and on weekends.
