Hello, my name is Roo, I'm a 29 years old and looking to babysit in the Brighton/Hove area.
I'm warm, fun loving, empathetic and passionate about giving the highest level of care and support to children and families.
I have a background working in SEN schooling, disability care and mental health settings, which has equipped me with the skills and understanding to look after children with more complex needs if required.
For you and your family I would be happy to do any of the following:
• Preparing meals and snacks; encouraging good eating habits.
• Oral or gastrostomy tube feeding if required.
• Engaging children in activities including games, reading, cooking and art/crafts and homework.
• facilitating messy/sensory play.
• Tidying children’s rooms and household spaces.
• Bathing and getting children ready for bed.
• Encouraging communication and interaction with use of speech and language therapy tools if required.
• Supporting physiotherapy exercises.
• Administering prescribed creams/medications.
Currently I am employed part-time in NHS stroke therapy whilst studying to become a qualified occupational therapist; with the eventual aim to work with young people.
I am keen to take on any babysitting opportunities, whether it's routine-long term assistance or simply a few hours on the occasional evening so that you can go out for a meal!

Neurorehabilitation September 2021 - Present
8 years volunteering at a respite foster home for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Babysitting from age of 16, including children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
2 months volunteering in schools overseas.
3 years working as a Hydrotherapy Assistant and as an SEN Teaching Assistant at a Special School.

Gastrostomy tube feeding
Epilepsy management: vagus nerve stimulator & emergency medication training
