My Requirements
Hi there,
*Wednesday afternoon childcare required from Jan 2024 for a 4year old girl with additional support needs (global developmental delay). * NB if we cannot find Wednesday help, we would consider Monday afternoon as an alternative
Thanks for reading. I have two girls aged 7 and 4. My husband and I are both from N.Ireland and have busy jobs without family nearby so childcare is often a juggle for us! Our girls are both extroverts, full of joy and they get on well most of the time!
We are an easy going family, the house can be a messy sometimes. Our priorities are the girls being happy, reading/ learning (keeping their tv demands relatively under control), getting exercise and them eating as healthily as possible.
We are looking for wednesday childcare. This would start as soon as possible and involve looking after our 4 year old from 3.20pm- she would need collected from Bonaly primary school nursery, playing with her and preparing the girls dinner (something basic, I would have most of the prep ready depending on your enthusiasm and ability for cooking!) - my husband or I will return with our eldest around 6pm (who goes to after school club). We need help from 3- 6pm - collect buggy at 3pm for pick up at the school 5-10 mins walk away at 3.20pm. Have been paying £10 for casual babysitters but very much open to negotiation re this if you are qualified to work with ASN children/ working at a higher level than a babysitter. Eg £12-15 per hour for the right person if you can commit for the next 18 months. Another option if you are looking for longer hours is adding in a 2pm start with light housework duties first eg strips kids beds and do loads of washing, tidy their toys and bedrooms, so 2-6pm.
We would also be open to someone helping 2-3 Wednesdays per month as due to my husbands self employed work we can be semi flexible.
We also need occasional evening babysitting work and school holiday help if you would like this on an ad hoc basis (this would involve also looking after our 7 year old too, she is good fun and has no additional needs).
Our 4 year old is a joyful child with a lot of energy. She has some speech (more in keeping with a 2 year olds level of communication, she also has an extremely short attention span and is still in nappies). She can walk and run but still uses the buggy a lot (we are trying to phase this out). She is a very social, friendly child who generally lights up every room she enters but she does require energy and someone calm! She loves to sing, flick through books and dance.
A car would be an advantage as Bonaly buses aren’t the most regular but it is by no means essential. The number 16 also stops nearby, Colinton village is a 5-10 min walk from our house and there are a number of other buses that stop there. We are close to some lovely walks, a local library and it is 5-10 mins walk to the primary school from our house. Thank you for reading!
