My Summary
About Me
Hello everyone, my name is Carrie
I'm based in the Bedminster area of Bristol.
I'm an Ofsted registered childminder.
I am covid vaccinated.
I share my home with my husband and teenage daughter, I have a grown son that sadly no longer lives at home and I am blessed to be step mum to 3 gorgeous children aged between 4 to 13 that we have on weekends.
There is also our very friendly cat although she is not around much during the day time and a large tank of tropical fish, there are pictures and name cards on the tank making it fun and educationa for children to explore.
I provide a warm friendly welcoming and stimulating setting for all ages with lots of different toys books games and activities, I enjoy early learning with the children in a fun and relaxed environment, helping them to progress to there next steps , be that walking talking or getting ready to leave and start school. Making sure to work closely with parents to ensure that the child is feeling comfortable happy and supported in each step forward that they take.
To encourage kindness, confidence and independence in a safe and secure setting.
I have a secure garden that I love to grow vegs and flowers in with the children, (teaching them about wildlife and nature) I'm very lucky to have lots of lovely parks , woodlands and a city farm on my doorstep as I don't drive but love being out in all weather having adventures and exploring so waterproofs and wellies are a must as are sun hats and cream.
I promote Politeness and Positivity and encourage kindness at every opportunity.
we love messy play and arts and crafts, baking , singing, story time and imaginative play.. all these things make for a busy day and I like to keep screen time to a minimum.
there is also a great library that offers story and rhyme time sessions as well as sing along groups.

We were quite disappointed with our experience with Carrie. Our baby is very sensitive and needed someone who could take a bit more time to settle her gently and help her build trust. Carrie had a tight schedule and other children to care for, so the environment just wasn’t right for our little one.
After two or three weeks of settling sessions, Carrie said our baby wasn’t ready for childcare and wouldn’t be able to take her on — this was only a week before I had to return to work, which put us in a very difficult position.
Our baby is now with other professionals who’ve had the time to give her the comfort and reassurance she needs, and she’s settling much better. I think Carrie is a good professional, but this setup just wasn’t the right fit for us, and I wanted to share that in case it helps other parents with sensitive babies.

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback regarding your experience with the settling sessions. I read your comments with care and I am truly sorry that the situation caused you disappointment and difficulty, especially so close to your return to work date.
I can certainly appreciate how stressful and disappointing it must have been to receive the news about the suitability of the setting just a week before you needed to start back. Looking back, I wish I had been able to give you more notice, and I apologize for the difficult position that put you in.
It is absolutely my priority to ensure that every child is happy, secure, and ready to thrive in my setting. As you rightly pointed out, my setup involves caring for other children and adhering to a schedule, which regrettably limited the amount of one-on-one time and quiet, gentle settling that your daughter needed to build trust and feel secure. In those moments, the decision to stop the process, though difficult, was made with her best interests at heart, recognizing that she deserved a more tailored start than I could offer at that time.
I am genuinely relieved and pleased to hear that your little one is now with professionals who have been able to give her the comfort and reassurance she needs, and that she is settling much better. That is wonderful news.
I appreciate your kind words about my professionalism and your desire to help other parents with sensitive babies. Your feedback is valuable, and I will certainly take it into consideration as I communicate with new families about the dynamics of my setting and the specific needs I can best support.
I wish you and your family all the very best.
Sincerely,
Carrie
I'm self employed and needed to go back to work when my little one was 4months, and she started going to Carrie from then 4 days per week.
Carrie was incredible, understanding, caring and excellent with Lola. She gave us confidence and assistance with weaning and lots of helpful advice (as first time parents this was invaluable). She supported Lola in every aspect of her learning and development, and gave a great mix of activities and outdoor play/experiences. Carrie put us at ease straight away, and built an amazing bond with Lola.
I would recommend her to anyone!

Thank you so much for your lovely review.
It was a pure pleasure to care for lola and build such an amazing relationship with you and your fab family. 🥰
Where do I start?! Carrie has been absolutely amazing with our little boy. From the moment we met her, we knew that Carrie was the one, after looking for a childminder we could trust our son with for ages. Her values and teaching methods are very much aligned with ours and she made us feel welcome from the start. Her home has a warm, welcoming feel to it and it's easy to see why our little boy feels so comfortable there and loves going to see and spend the day with Carrie so much!
Carrie is clearly very competent, but more importantly, made our son feel safe and at home. Her communication is excellent and we especially love the updates she provides through the diary, which she completes after every session.
We love the fact that she does loads with the kids and takes them out to various fun and exciting places. Our son's development and social skills have continually astounded us and that's in large part thanks to Carrie.
We trust Carrie fully with our son and we have no concerns at all when he's with her. We couldn't recommend her highly enough. She sets the bar high when it comes to childcare.
