About Me
My name is Grace, I am 22 years old and am getting married in July 2024! I am currently a PGCE student (training for secondary school RE!) at Oxford University and am based in Park Town in Oxford. I completed both an undergraduate and masters degree at Durham University where I babysat, tutored, and nannied part-time and in the holidays for a few families with children aged between 1 and 14, with the majority of time looking after two children aged 3 and 6 (aged 1 and 4 when I began!). I really loved my work in Durham and throughout the years I often travelled with this family to London to help them out there, now I am in Oxford I'm hoping to take on new roles. I have lots of experience working with children, since I was 13 I have consistently babysat for friends, worked in childcare clubs, and volunteered at youth centres. I am friendly, professional, and fun, and I particularly love to do crafts, bake, make learning fun, and play outside with children. Due to my university course, I have an enhanced DBS check and am always learning about the development of children, my undergraduate degree's dissertation even focused on Montessori's understanding of the child!
My Experience
I have nannied, babysat, and tutored regularly for a variety of families while at university, with the children's ages ranging from 1-14. With the family aforementioned, I often travelled with them, took them on trips, accompanied them on outings, and stay with them for weekends when they visit London! I au paired for 6 weeks in Catalonia for two girls aged 10 and 12 in the summer of 2022, as well as covered for an au pair in Westminster, looking after three children aged 3, 3, and 5. Alongside babysitting and nannying, I worked at an after-school club for my last two years of school in which I helped to cook, play, entertain, and manage up to 40 primary school children. I have also spent over 6 years volunteering in various youth work roles, leading youth groups and classes of children aged 3-16, and completed work experience in a pre-school kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school. I am currently working as a trainee teacher at my placement secondary school for my PGCE course.

Trained in First Aid, currently undertaking a PGCE, undergraduate and master's degree, 3 A-B A-Levels, 10 A*-B GCSEs, award for my volunteering in youth groups
