About Claire’s Care
Hello, my name is Claire.
I am an Ofsted-registered childminder based in the Southowram area of Halifax. My home is just a short walk from the local school and park — and we make the most of our location with regular outings for play, fresh air and exploration.
I offer secure off-road parking for easy drop-off and collection, and a safe, fully enclosed garden that the children enjoy every day.
I first trained as a childminder in 2011, but I have worked with children throughout my life. I am a mum to three wonderful children who are incredibly supportive and enjoy welcoming the minded children into our family environment.
I have recently expanded my setting, and my husband Kenny now works alongside me as a registered assistant. Together, we provide a warm, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, cared for and part of the family.
We are both trained in paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene, ensuring high standards of safety and care at all times. I also hold an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare.
Southowram is a lovely, rural village with beautiful walks, horses and farm animals right on our doorstep. We also benefit from being close to Brighouse and Halifax, giving us access to plenty of activities, groups and places to visit.

My Experience
I have worked with children in both nursery settings and as a childminder since leaving school in 2001. Supporting children’s learning, growth and development has always been my passion, and I feel very fortunate to have built my career around something I truly love.
I find working with children incredibly rewarding — from nurturing babies in their early milestones to supporting curious toddlers and confident preschoolers. Every age brings something special, and I enjoy creating a caring, engaging environment where each child can thrive.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
I offer a great rate of £6 per hour, and I only charge for 47 weeks of the year.
I charge per hour rather than a fixed daily fee, which is ideal for families with flexible working patterns who need a more adaptable childcare option.
All fees include:

• Drinks
Funding is available from 9 months, and I accept both funded hours and Tax-Free Childcare.
