About Me
Hello, my name is Jade, and I am a registered childminder preparing to open my doors in Easter. I live in Wigston with my husband, our two wonderful children, four friendly cats, and lizard – together we create a warm, lively, and welcoming family home.
My setting offers a safe and nurturing environment where children can feel at home while learning and having fun. We have a large indoor space filled with toys, activities, and resources for all ages, as well as a spacious outdoor area that encourages active play, exploration, and a love for the outdoors.
My aim is to provide a "home away from home" where children feel secure, supported, and valued as individuals. I will be following the EYFS framework, helping each child to develop socially, emotionally, and academically while encouraging creativity, independence, and confidence.
I am really looking forward to welcoming families in the spring and working in partnership with parents to give their children the very best start in life.
My Experience
I have always enjoyed working with children and young people, and over the years I have volunteered in both schools and colleges, supporting learning and development in different age groups. These experiences gave me valuable insight into how children learn best through play, creativity, and positive encouragement.
I also come from a creative background, which I bring into my childcare setting through fun, hands-on activities that spark imagination and self-expression. Whether it’s art, crafts, music, or role play, I believe creativity helps children build confidence and explore the world around them.
In recent years, I decided to follow my long-time dream of becoming a childminder. Now that my own children are happily settled in childcare and school, it feels like the perfect time to open my doors and create a nurturing home-from-home where other children can flourish.
My Qualifications
I am committed to providing the highest standard of care and continually developing my knowledge and skills. My qualifications and training include:
HBCA Childcare Course
Paediatric First Aid (current)
Prevent Training
Early Child Development
Safeguarding Children Level 3
DSL Training for Childminders
BA (Hons) in Surface Design – bringing a strong creative background into my childcare practice
I also plan to continue with Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses to expand my knowledge and ensure I can offer the best support to the children in my care.
