My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Ciara (24). I’ve spent close to a decade caring for little ones, beginning with babysitting at sixteen and later working as a nanny, babysitter, and special needs teaching assistant. I hold a degree in Childhood & Youth Studies and specialise in caring for newborns through age five.
I create warm, playful days built around connection, curiosity, and calm. I’m very intentional with my speech around children and focus on helping them feel understood rather than rushed. I love following their lead in play, supporting their natural interests, and guiding them through “dangerous things safely” so they build confidence and independence at their own pace.
Current Availability
I’m looking for a family (or two) who need daytime nanny support on:
Tuesdays: 09:00 to 14:30
Fridays: 09:00 to 17:00/18:00
These times are fixed weekly.
What I’m Looking For
I’m seeking nanny roles with children aged newborn to five. I’m happiest when I’m:
heading out to parks, libraries, playgroups and little local adventures
baking and doing simple kitchen activities
creating inviting play setups
encouraging gentle routines and age-appropriate independence
My approach blends child-led exploration with dependable structure, always keeping children safe, engaged and thriving.
My Personality & Approach
I love the small joys of everyday life — the “look what I found!” moments, the slow walks, the tiny discoveries that mean everything to children. I’m calm, patient, and deeply passionate about what I do. The children always come first. Their emotional safety matters as much as their physical safety, and I adapt to each child’s rhythm rather than pushing them through mine.
Household Support
I’m happy to help with light tasks such as tidying, laundry, and meal prep, while always prioritising attentive childcare.
Location
I’ve recently moved to Hertford but still work regularly in Enfield. I’m happy to travel, ideally along Greater Anglia or Great Northern Trainlines and transport costs can be discussed if needed.
Bookings
I work with multiple families, so bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. I don’t charge cancellation fees because I understand life with children is unpredictable.
My Experience
I bring extensive experience across childcare, education, and special needs support, having cared for children from newborns to teens in schools, SEN settings, and private homes.
Roles I’ve held include:
- Nanny & Babysitter (full-day care, school runs, evening & overnight)
Special Needs Teaching Assistant (5 years supporting children with SEN, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech/language delays)
Au Pair (Australia, family-based childcare)
I now focus primarily on nannying, combining educational support, developmental play, and engaging outings to create a warm, structured environment tailored to each child.
- Newborn & Infant Care
Experienced in caring for newborns as young as 4 days old, offering:
Feeding support (breastfeeding, bottle feeding, weaning)
Sleep routines and settling techniques
Nappy changing, bathing, and soothing
Gentle developmental play (tummy time, sensory stimulation)
I provide responsive, gentle care adapted to each baby’s individual needs during these precious early months.
- Twins & Multiples
Skilled in managing care for multiples, including:
Three sets of twins (newborn to school-age)
One set of triplets
Coordinating feeding, nap schedules, and routines for several children
Supporting sibling bonding and individual attention
I stay organised, calm, and attentive to ensure every child feels loved and engaged.
- Nannying & Babysitting
I offer flexible, reliable childcare with:
Full-day nannying (structured activities, outings, routine care)
Before and after-school care (pickups, drop-offs, homework support)
Evening and overnight babysitting
I enjoy taking children on pre-approved outings to parks, museums, playgroups, and local events that foster exploration and social development.
- Special Needs & Educational Support
With my background in special needs education, I’ve supported children with:
Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory processing differences
Speech and language delays, emotional and behavioural needs
I adapt my approach to celebrate each child’s strengths, ensuring they feel supported, engaged, and valued.

For the past three years £15 is the minimum that my Enfield families were paying but I don't know if that will transfer to Hertford families so I am open to conversation but I also now have bills I have to factor in.... yay adulting

We have known Ciara for nearly 2 years and she regularly babysits our now 3/5/7 year olds and they absolutely adore her! As do we.
She is trustworthy, dependable and fun. She turns up with a smile of her face and always has lots of fun and stimulating activities to do with our children. She is extremely knowledgable about childcare and child behaviour and handles our children with care and consideration whilst also setting appropriate boundaries. Our children always look forward to Ciara babysitting and they also respect her immensely.
10/10, couldn’t recommend highly enough

We hired Ciara for babysitting for our girls a few times. Ciara was an absolute delight from the moment we first spoke. In a nutshell, she is the perfect combination of utmost professionalism and respect, just the right amount of laid back flexibility for parents and of course maximum amount of energy, fun and alertness with the kids. She is full of energy and positivity and truly treated my kids as if they were her own. With Ciara, I felt very comfortable and safe to leave the kids for a night out.
Ciara was amazing with the girls and they had a great time with her. I have a very fussy 14 month old and Ciara did wonders to sooth her. She never complained about anything and was so easy to work with.
I highly recommend Ciara as I have worked with many different babysitters in the past and none of them even compare. Ciara ticks off every box in the checklist.
We can’t wait to continue to work with her in the future.
