My Summary

My Experience

I have 4 years experience working with 6 months - 5 years in the early years setting. I have been fortunate enough to gain a lot of experience and learn different teaching styles working/studying between West Dunbartonshire Council/Glasgow City Council, the private sector and now as an Early Education and Childcare Officer within West Dunbartonshire Council, after qualifying in 2017. I have been able to adapt to the different learning environments and different paperwork of Pre-Birth to Three and Curriculum for Excellence. Using these documents to implement learning experiences for the children based on their individual needs and interests. This prepared me on how to effectively use my initiative to create experiences that would hold the children’s attention and make them learn in a fun way. I learned how to communicate in different ways, using actions and flash cards and adjusting my language depending on the age group. I also ensured that throughout these processes that the children felt safe and included, relating in with the shannari wellbeing indicators. supported all children, but worked closely within a key group system to really provide effective support for each individual child and allow them all to experience the same activities, using my professional approach to adjust it to suit the age and stage of that child. I also worked with outside agencies and teachers, and worked on activities that would prepare the children for school in accordance with the baselines, making sure the environment was always positive and inviting to allow the children to thrive in. Overall I have provided many resources and activities alongside the curriculum to implement structure and learning opportunities, to motivate staff, parents and children themselves to engage and learn.

I would have all the experience behind me to bring with me to use when working with your child, I am very nurturing and a happy, bubbly person that will have lots of love to give to you child!
