About Me
Hello. Does your child need additional support to help them in school? Do they need phonics support? Are they nervous about SATS and need a little extra help? Are they preparing for entrance exams to independent schools? Or do they simply need a boost in confidence?
I am a highly qualified, experienced teacher, currently employed in a North Tyneside primary school. With 20 years of teaching experience, I am available to tutor children in all primary subjects, plus English up to A-level.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate and extensive safeguarding training.
My Experience
I have been teaching full time in Newcastle and North Tyneside schools for the past twenty years. I currently teach Year 1 but have experience across the primary range.
I have extensive experience of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum and am a phonics specialist (Read Write Inc trained).
I have run booster groups in English and Maths for Year 6 SATS and am also an experienced SATS marker.
I also have experience of working with and directly supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, SEMH and ASD and am a qualified SENCO.

BA (Honours) 2:1 English from Strathclyde University (2000)
PGCE (Primary) Newcastle University
PGCE (NASC) Cumbria University (Special Educational Needs)
My Availability
Weeknights from 4pm - times and hours negotiable.
Monday -Tuesday daytime (suitable for home educated children).
Weekends by arrangement.
One hour and two hour slots available.
One to one tutoring, paired tuition, differing age ranges or small groups.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £30.00 per hour
£40 per hour for one to one tuition at primary level in your own home. Paired/group rates negotiable.
£45 per hour for secondary level English tuition.
