About Me

From when I first came to the UK in ‘99 until now I have had 11 years of experience working as a support worker for children and adults with special needs in various settings. For most of that time I lived in communities where coworkers and residents lived together in households and shared the work and cultural life of that particular place. Supporting and getting to know the people in my care in both home environment and workshop life, was a profound and rewarding experience.
Some nearly 10 years ago I decided to train and work as a kindergarten teacher as I have always had a great love for children. I then worked in different kindergarten settings for nearly 7 years and also had part time positions as a child carer in private households. I enjoyed my work with the young child immensely but found it difficult to find permanent employment.
I therefore decided to have a change and first did some voluntary work for a year and after that found work in a residential setting for special needs adults where I stayed for 2 years, both in different parts of the UK. At the end of that phase I followed my heart’s call to come back to Stroud, Gloucestershire area where I feel most at home and have a lot of friends.
I’m presently looking for part time work in child care as I clearly feel drawn towards working with the young child once again which is what Iove doing and have a lot of experience in.
