About Me
I am Susana, a 27 years old girl from Spain. I am speech therapist but I currently work in a primary school as teacher assistant. I enjoy working with children of all ages, doing activities and games with them (specially crafts and reading) and sometimes teaching them some Spanish! I love to travel and know about different cultures, read, paint and do crafts with recycled materials.
I know how important is for children to have a good role model and for parents to trust the person who looks after their kids; some of the things I value more about me are my patience, empathy and manners, I am a responsible person who is always trying to learn more about children and education.
My Experience
I worked as speech therapist in Spain with children with disabilities as autism, cerebral pulsy or deafness, until I move to England 4 years ago to work as aupair. Then I looked after three children of 1, 3 and 5 yo, so I have experience in baby care, but also in creating games and activities to entertein and estimulate kids of different ages. After my aupair experience I worked in nursery and kindergarten for 2 years. Now I work in a primary school as teacher assistant, I am based in year 3 and 5, so I can also help kids with homework or any other academic requirements.
My Qualifications
I have a speech therapy degree and a master’s degree in Special Educational Needs and Early Assistance. I also have some courses about specific disabilities as autism, literacy problems and sign language and I´m first aid trained.
My Availability
Usually I am avaible after school during weekdays, and all day some weekends. During half term I am usually available all day.
