We live on a boat in Thurmaston with our little one, Isa who is 3 years old (born October 2020).
Isa is great fun at the moment and loves books, animals, puzzles, riding his bike, singing, music, painting, being outdoors, and of course, trains!
I have been unwell with chronic fatigue / long covid since Isa was 1, and really struggle to look after him without help. My mum and a friend have been helping us a lot but we now think it would do Isa good to spend time with more children.
My Requirements
We would ideally like a childminder who has availability for 2 days, including Wednesdays, and possibly Tuesday or Thursday (to be discussed), and who is near enough to us for me to walk or cycle to drop Isa off. Lower end of Birstall or Thurmaston, ideally. I'd also consider e.g. Syston or further down Melton road as we can come by bus.
We would love someone who is flexible and who gets kids doing crafts, painting, cooking etc especially, as I feel bad for how little I manage to do with him. We would also ideally have someone who uses gentle approaches to behaviour and discipline etc.
We aren't great at early mornings, so I even wondered if we could fit in with someone who's dropping other children at school - Isa could join after this at 9am for example. Just an idea!
