My Summary

My Experience

I have worked in the childcare sector for 3 years now and have also spent my whole life growing up around younger people, caring and being a role model for them. I have always been trusted to look after children since I was younger. I used to babysit for families on my road from the age of 14. Family friends also ask me frequently to babysit their children as I know how to have fun but keep things under control.
Working in a special needs school for the past 2 years has given me great experience for different types of children and needs. My responsibilities at the school included making snacks, personal care and dealing with challenging behaviours in a calm and collected manner. By having to do this daily it has given me skills that can be carried out with mainstream children too. I was trusted to organise fun lessons for the children and learn through play with them. I often was asked to lead 1:1 interventions with children including sensory play, reading books in a group and outdoor PE sessions!
After the school day was finished I would nanny for one of the students from the school. I had to collect them from school using my own vehicle and take them home. Once home I would cook healthy dinner as per his food plan, bath/shower him and get him ready for bed. During school holidays I would organise days out/activities for them suited to their needs, likes and dislikes. This included day trips to the local farm, beach trips and soft play zones! When the parents had an evening away planned they would also call me in for babysitting the young SEN adult and their mainstream daughter.
During the holidays I also did nannying for a young SEN adult, who has cerebral palsy. My role included making them healthy meals throughout the day as per their eating plan. Hoisting them safely to and from the changing bed, personal care and driving their disability van to enable us to go out to gardens centres and local parks suited to her condition.

My Availability

I am looking for Monday-Thursday/Friday mornings (full time hours) as of January 2023. I am majority of the time around to do babysitting in the evening and on weekends if asked in advance.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
