About Me

Hi! I am a caring, patient and compassionate individual. I am reliable and punctual. Using empathy, patience and active listening skills allows me to build trusting relationships with children which promotes a fun, positive environment. Throughout my experience coaching circus skills and working with Shine Wraparound Care, I have developed effective behaviour management strategies to help children engage with activities.
I come from a small town 30 mins away from Bristol called Stroud. In Bristol, I studied physiotherapy at UWE and now I am working as a performing arts creative coach to encourage physical activity and creativity for young people. In Stroud, I completed my GCSEs and A levels and an apprenticeship in teaching circus skills.
I also have my paediatric first aid training.

My Experience

My experience in childcare -

Creative Arts Coach with Shine:
Shine provides wraparound care for primary schools around Bristol. As a creative playworker, I create a safe space for children to explore their creativity while engaging in activities that promote innovative thinking, teamwork skills and self-expression.
Key activities included in the lesson plans are team games, creative movement and creative crafts. These games aim to improve a child's awareness and communication with their peers. I regularly use my physiotherapy training knowledge when planning sessions to improve children's fine motor movement, strength and coordination.

I have been babysitting for family friends since I was 15. I have had experience babysitting children ages 3-10. My responsibilities have been; preparing meals, creating fun/interactive activities for the children, taking the children to the park or for bike rides, and putting the children to bed.

In my gap year, I did an apprenticeship where I taught circus skills to children aged 5-9 and 9-13. I planned lessons, ensured the safety of children while delivering the lesson and cleaned/packed up the lessons. During this experience, I developed my communication and leadership skills; along with expanding my creativity in order to make the lessons I thought to be more engaging and fun.

I have completed a physiotherapy placement working with children with neurological conditions. As well as leading physio sessions for 0-18-year-olds ensuring they are interactive, I took on a leadership role to organise a fun scooter group for 4-6-year-olds in half term. I gained more understanding of treating every child as an individual, respecting and accepting their own interests and hobbies.
