My Experience

hello my name is phoebe, I am 22 years old and I have been involved with Care work now for 5 years of my life and it has been the best thing I could ever think of doing, My first care role was for someone suffering with MS and he was sadly bedbound and was being peg fed daily and he suffered with depression and anxiety my role was to support him through his daily needs and i would sit and chat with him make him feel not so alone as he did bring a bright smile to his face and let him know that its ok.
My second career was at hunter combe hospital in Stafford, i was a support worker there for children between the ages of 12-18 suffering mental health situations that could involve:
-depression
-anxiety
-bipolar
-schizophrenia/psychosis
-drug related problems
-ETC
This for me i found to be my hardest job but the most rewarding when i saw these kids and sat with them on the 1;1 hour discussing their concerns and worries, the good and bad it made me remember why i did care in the first place, no matter how hard the day if a kid was really struggling and they needed to be supported using restraints if matters escalated I knew deep down this kid was really hurting and they were thankful for someone being there finally when at their worst in the past no one was.
Finally, I have also been a nanny/au pair, for a girl aged 21 with autism and Smyth Magennis syndrome with her autism her mentality was not that of a 21-year-old but of a 12-year-old so you had to be cautious and careful of what was said she was very public she would get very distraught over small things, and she relied on her mother and stepfather she was assisted with going to the toilet getting dressed and woken up in the morning, assisted with medication and going out places certain days or being at home cooking or doing arts and crafts she enjoyed all sorts she was a very bubbly girl.
I love the work I do it's been so amazing meeting new people.
i consider myself suitable to this job because it's what I love, seeing people's faces light up when they struggle because having that one person there to help and be a rock for them is more than anything in the whole world.

My Qualifications

I attended school
And college for 2 years couldnt pursue any longer as the course didn't interest me and wasn’t bringing me any enjoyment

My Availability

Im available most afternoons and most evenings on the weekend but I can vary

My Fees

• Babysitting from £11.00 per hour

My fees are from
£11 -£13 due to extending hours if need be
