Hi I'm Laura, I'm a friendly medical student in Coventry !
I'm an experienced babysitter who's worked with children with a variety of dietary, educational, and physical needs. I'm particularly good at singing Disney songs and buildings dens!
I spend most of my time on placement with grumpy adults, so enjoy any respite that involves fancy dress and imaginary games.
Predominantly free for evening and weekend sits but can do occasional weekday day-times.
I have a car and am happy to meet via video call or in person first if you're looking for a regular sit.
My Experience
I have looked after children from when I was still a child myself- volunteering as a Rainbow and Guide leader from ages 14-19. This included organising and leading fun and education activities, supervising activities, and offering comfort and support to children aged 5-14.
After I moved to University I began babysitting a child (then aged 5) in the school holidays full-time, and continued to do so for 2 years. This included supervising his morning routine, organising fun activities during the day such as baking/trips out/scavenger hunts/den building, supervising school work and reading/writing practice, cooking all meals following strict dietary requirements, and providing medical care such as help with complex toileting needs, and administration of medication.
I have also volunteered at a leisure centre for children and young people with disabilities and SEN, and have experience using hoists and suction devices having worked as a Clinical Support Worker at Warwick Hospital for 2 years.
My Qualifications
I have 13 As and A*s at GCSE and A*AABB at A level.
I have a BSc in Neuroscience with 1st class honours from University of Bristol.
I am currently in my third year of medical school and University of Warwick, and want to specialise in Paediatrics.
