About Me
I am a recent Psychology graduate from the University of Leeds and am currently working in a secondary school as a learning support assistant to children with SEN and SEMH. I am warm and friendly and am easily adaptable to any environment. I have always found it very easy to be around children of all ages and one day hope to go into the field of Child Psychology.
My Experience
Before and during going to university I was an active babysitter for two main families and had other occasional babysitting jobs alongside these. The children ranged from ages 6 to 12 from all different cultural backgrounds. This occurred after school, during the holidays and on the weekends. I cooked basic meals, helped with homework and carried out the bedtime routines - whilst forming a strong relationship with each family. I also volunteered when I was in 6th form to be a mentor to children with Autism and ADHD as they went through their GCSEs- acting as a support system emotionally and with revision and other difficulties they were having. I currently work in a secondary school with children with SEN as a learning support assistant. These children have needs that range from educational needs as well as mental health, emotional and social needs.
