Hello, my name is Bernadette and I live in Brandon, Suffolk, England. I grew up around Cambridge and ever since discovering Ballet at age 3 I have pretty much danced my way through life. At age 16 I left home to attend Dance college then went on to perfom professionally for a few years before returning to the Cambridge/ Suffolk area to teach. I have an optimistic, friendly demeanor and thoroughly enjoy being creative.
During term time I am a Ballet teacher, which I absolutely adore and one of my biggest passions is encouraging my students to grow not just in their technique but also in confidence.
Outside of work I enjoy gardening, baking, reading and sketching. Living so close to the forest, regular walks exploring my beautiful surroundings are often part of my daily routine.
Alongside of my teaching and hobbies I also work as a cat sitter and freelance photographic model - rest assured all my modeling work has been 'family friendly' and is often used on book covers as alot of the images are heavily fairytale orientated (ask for a link to my website to check if you wish).
My Experience
I have taught Ballet since 2013 to a vast range of students from 18months upto 19years. Working with such a range of ages I have learnt the challenges that can occur at different stages and their personality developments. My ballet classes are not just about skipping around, so many more skills are learnt during classes - listening, waiting, spacial awareness, use of props, sharing, following instructions, just to name a few. To quote a recent comment from one of my dance parents "Bernadette has a great sense of humour but is firm, so my girls learn and enjoy the experience too."

I have experience taking care of friends and families children. My first experiences of childcare were during my work experience placement - many, many years back - which took place at babraham nursery.
My Qualifications

- Full uk driving licence (of 11 years)
- Diploma in Dance & Diploma in Performing Arts
- 12 GCSE's including English A, Maths B & Science A
- DBS checked (for teaching at the dance school)
- First Aid Trained *next course booked for August 2022*
