My Summary
About Me
SCHOOL HOLIDAY PLACES and 1 permanent place available. Situated in central Kempston just by Sainsburys, I have been a fully insured Ofsted Registered Childminder for over 30 years. I live with my husband. My son and other daughter have houses nearby. My other daughter lives in Dubai.
I am a fully Insured NCMA/PACEY Member and hold an Enhanced CRB/DBS Disclosure. I am Ofsted Registered, being Regulated and Inspected with 30 years of continuous Registration. I'm also I.C.O. Registered and hold full Public Liability Insurance with PACEY.
I am extremely experienced, extensively trained and offer quality and fun childcare in a happy, home from home setting at sensible low ratios of adult to children. As like Nurseries and Preschools I work within the EYFS Framework to ensure all your child’s progress is monitored and recorded and next steps are planned from my observations. I now use the UK’s largest on-line childcare portal Babysdays instead of A4 paper and journals. This is fully interactive with for parents and everything from contracts, medical records, photographs to invoices are all available at the touch of a button on your phone or wherever you choose to log in from. Here you’ll also find daily notes where full information of your child’s day is also included along with photographs of your child’s day showing their learning progression while learning and having fun.
All childcare can be tailored exactly to your childs individual needs and your specific requirements.
I have undertaken extensive further training gaining numerous Certificates of further training and also offer a vast portfolio of excellent parental references for which I can send you links for should you wish to view these prior to deciding whether to visit my setting.
I am a fun person, very friendly and approachable and your child's learning and development and both your happiness are my main objective. Our days are fun and varied. We do lots during the day both inside and outside of my home. We visit various toddler groups, local library, various community projects, music & rhyme times, soft play, messy play, a dance and movement group also various Childrens Centres and Childminder Support Groups.
Sometimes we go bug hunting, feeding ducks, visit farms, numerous parks, various nature walks, Library, brass rubbing on Castle Mound, Higgins Museum, Houghton House, Bromham Mill Fairy Trail, garden centres, feeding giant fish and ducks, various play and sand parks, collecting natural resources, skate parks and graffiti tunnels, Shuttleworth Gardens, nature reserves, Stewartby Lake, the Forest Centre, train spotting, walk up to see the Fire Station, Barton Springs, various toddler groups etc so we’re out and about in the fresh air a lot having lots of exercise, exploring nature at its best. Without a doubt we’re out every single morning having fun while learning through play and adventure! Nothing is ever set in stone....for example if a child has a current interest in trains or fire engines-we could go to the Train Station or Fire Station. We have done this many times and have often wangled an exclusive guided tour of each! All of our trips out, visits, past times and attractions and all admission costs are included within your fees.
At home I have numerous educational toys and resources and we do lots fun and educational activities following the EYFS Framework and the children's interests such as singing and music sessions, dressing up and role play, gardening, computers/iPads, arts and crafts with glue and paint, basic baking and cooking, projects, model making, age appropriate scientific experiments, general free play and much more.
My home is warm, large, clean and welcoming. My garden is fully enclosed and has various swings, slide, trampoline, sand pit etc in addition to general items such as play tents, paddling pools, golf, skittles, ride on bikes and trikes etc. We have tortoises which the children love feeding, 2 rabbits and some very tolerant cats which love to be fussed. Please bear this in mind if your child may have allergies.
I provide all the essentials with regards to pushchairs, car seats, travel cots, car seats etc. All my toys, resources and equipment are regularly checked for safety and kept in a good and clean condition.
Please note these new vacancies are for children approximately 18+ months to fit in with existing children.

I am also registered for the new Government initiative of 20% Tax Free Childcare Scheme which is an incentive for higher earners with an income of up to 100K per year. Reviews
Below are the latest reviews for Loretta Young. Please note that reviews represent the subjective opinions of other Childcare.co.uk users and not of Childcare.co.uk. Parents must carry out their own checks and references on childcare providers to ensure that they are completely happy before enaging in the use of their services.
Our daughter has been going to Loretta’s since November, and has such fantastic (and educational!) experiences, and they are always doing something different.
As a little one that was only 4 months old when we went into lockdown 1, we were quite nervous about our first experience of childcare outside of family. We didn’t need to fear though, and our daughter has a fab time with Loretta and has made some lovely little friends. Whilst our daughter has suffered some separation anxiety, we have been able to work through this together with Loretta, as a key partner to the success of our family. With her empathy and support, we are out the other side (touch wood!), but if not, we trust that there is a huge knowledge base in Loretta to help us get our little girl back on track.
Our daughter’s language and counting has come on leaps and bounds, and her vocabulary, comprehension and conversation has expanded to include all the exciting things they do.
Would recommend for your littlies

Aww that’s so lovely. Thankyou so much for your kind words :-)
Loretta is really nice; she keeps Lara very busy with multiple and variable indoor and outdoor activities that our daughter loves doing. Day by day she has managed to gain our daughter trust and love.
She also has helped a lot keeping us updated with all the required paperwork, etc.

Thankyou very much 😀
Loretta is the best child care provider i have used since living in bedford. She helped my children behaviour making them more calmer and more respectful towards people and animals. She is great with children. She took my children to do activities after collecting my girls up from school. She has helped me personally by picking me up from work at times and drove me and my kids home , she a great listener and gives great advise and is very supportive . Literally no bad thing about her and what she does. Reasonable prices too. Highly recommend loretta child care services.
Also would like to say a huge thankyou to loretta for taking my kids on in a short notice and looking after my children. Its sad that we no longer need child care at this moment in time. If i did need childcare i would know where i would go to. Xx
