*SUMMER HOLIDAY CHILDCARE ALSO AVAILABLE * I'm Loretta Young and I'm situated in central Kempston just by Sainsburys. I have been a fully insured Ofsted Registered Childminder for 27 years. I live with my husband and 2 daughters. My son has his own house nearby.
I am a fully Insured NCMA/PACEY Member and hold an Enhanced CRB/DBS Disclosure. I am Ofsted Registered and Inspected with 27 years of continuous Registration. I'm also Registered with I.C.O. and hold full Public Liability Insurance with PACEY. I am extremely experienced, extensively trained and offer quality and fun childcare in a happy, home from home setting at sensible low ratios of adult to children. As like Nurseries I work within the EYFS Framework to ensure all your child’s progress is monitored and recorded and next steps are planned from my observations. I now use the Countries largest on-line childcare portal instead of A4 paper and journals which is called Babysdays’s. This is fully interactive with for parents and everything from contracts to invoices are available at the touch of a button on your phone or wherever you choose to log in from. Here you’ll also find daily diaries where full information is also included along with photographs of your child’s day. All childcare can be tailored exactly to your childs individual needs and your specific requirements.
I have undertaken extensive further training gaining over 60 Certificates of further training undertaken and also offer a vast portfolio of excellent parental references for which I can send you links for should you wish to view these prior to deciding whether to visit my setting.
I am a fun person, very friendly and approachable and your child's learning and development and both your happiness are my main objective. Our days are fun and varied. We do lots during the day both inside and outside of my home. Daily, we visit various toddler groups, local library, community projects, music & rhyme times, soft play, numerous parks, messy play sessions, a dance and movement group, go for nature walks, we regularly visit Childrens Centres, 2 Childminder Support Groups, we could go bug hunting, visit farms, garden centres and pet shops etc. We also go regularly to the local and main rivers for feeding the ducks and giant fish which the children really enjoy. We've recently found some always hungry giant fish at The Wixams. All our trips out, visits, past times and attractions and all admission costs are included within your fees.
At home I have numerous educational toys and resources and we do lots fun and educational activities following the EYFS Framework and the children's interests such as singing and music, dressing up and role play, basic cooking, gardening, computers/iPads, arts and crafts with glue and paint, baking and cooking, projects, model making, free play and much more.
My home is warm, large, clean and welcoming. My garden is fully enclosed and has various swings, slide, trampoline, sand pit etc in addition to 'summer things' like play tents, paddling pools, golf, skittles, ride on bikes and trikes etc. We have free range guinea pigs and tortoises which the children love and also some very tolerant cats which love to be fussed. Please bear this in mind if your child may have allergies.
I provide all the essentials with regards to pushchairs, car seats, travel cots, car seats etc. All my toys, resources and equipment are regularly checked for safety and kept in a good and clean condition. Please ring to discuss your individual requirements or message me via this site.

Parents must carry out their own checks and references on childcare providers to ensure that they are completely happy before enaging in the use of their services.
My year old daughter had an overnight stay with Loretta. She made me feel at ease by sending her qualifications, sending videos of where my daughter would be staying etc and kept me updated while she had my daughter. She was able to pick up and drop off (as I do not drive) and my daughter came back very smiley.
Response by Loretta Young on 21/06/2019:
Awww many thanks for the lovely review. I try to reassure parents as much as possible by sending pics/videos throughout the time their child is with me. Also I try to help parents by offering transport if I can. Girly was so sweet, smiley and well behaved so please contact me again if the need arises.
Our 5-year old son has been staying with Loretta for over a year now after school and during school holidays and absolutely loves it. Loretta always tries to find new activities (seasonal) to entertain the children and our son never gets bored. He has also met lots of new friends as Loretta cares for several other children and they all get on very well. I highly recommend Loretta's services if you are looking for a "feel at home" place for you child in the Kempston area.
Response by Loretta Young on 21/06/2019:
Thankyou for your lovely review. We always have lots of fun and there’s never a dull moment! He’s a very sweet, well mannered boy who’s a pleasure to care for.
Prior to meeting Loretta, my daughter was afraid of cats, but Loretta found a way to make her feel comfortable and reassure her - by the end of her first day she enjoyed being around her fluffy cats and looked forward to going back.
My daughter always talks about Loretta and the various activities she enjoys with her such as Lego Club and going to local parks. She also likes playing in her garden, playing with the other children that Loretta cares for and looking after the cats. Loretta is chatty and always thinking about activities to do with the children and always suggests activities that I can do with my daughter on the weekends.
Response by Loretta Young on 21/09/2018:
Thankyou for your review. She's a lovely polite and helpful girl and a pleasure to care for.
Our little one is with Loretta since mid April 5 days / week and loves it! She has so many activities for him and the rest of the children that he never wants to leave in the evening! There are activities in doors when it is raining but most of the time she is bringing him to groups, parks (water park in the summer) museums etc. My sister in law's childminder doesn't even do 1/3 of what Loretta proposes! A good mix of Nanny Mcphee and Mary Poppins! Very happy and very glad we found her!
Response by Loretta Young on 16/09/2018:
Thankyou so much for your kind words and yes we love being busy outdoors. It’s always lovely seeing Baby Boys happy little face every morning but not so sweet when he doesn’t want to leave at home time!
Loretta is a wonderful childminder. Very passionate about her work, with years of experience and my daughter absolutely love her. She puts a lot of effort to entertain children and make them feel happy and safe. My daughter Laura was staying with Lorreta for the school holidays and she absolutely loved it. I am so pleased that this is not a stay at home childminder. They always do something and never get bored. She takes children to the park, playground or even to the Play House with no extra cost. She also have a big garden with swing and a slide and many toys to keep children entertain at all times. So far this is the best childminder that my daughter ever went to and for me this is very important as I want her to feel happy and I know she is in good hands. We definitely come back in October half term.
Response by Loretta Young on 04/09/2018:
Thankyou so much for your kind words Kasia. I do try to give the children plenty of outdoors activities aswell as those at home. Today for example was home play, then the giant sand pit visit, Danish Camp bouncy castle and nature walk, feeding the ducks and fish at Wixams, the sand park, picnic in the garden, making play doh then a trip to the vets! I love being busy :-)
Laura is a lovely, sociable girl and she got on brilliantly with the other children. It would be a pleasure to welcome her back.
