I am interested in full time nanny/housekeeping roles.
I love live music and going the theatre. I enjoy painting and making ceramics/mosaics and art activities in general. I spend a lot of my spare time going to museums and art exhibitions. I also enjoy gardening and nature walks and bicycle rides. I take real delight in a good book. I have four grown up children all with their own families, and four grandchildren. I am very active with my family.
My Experience
Throughout my career I have been employed either as a teacher or a manager within the education sector. In my most recent role, I was a teacher within a Reception class team, in a three-form entry school, in central Copenhagen. I led the delivery of the ‘Philosophy for Children’ (P4C) programme for Year R, 1, 2 and 3. I have found Philosophy for Children to be a valuable and effective approach to teaching and learning with excellent results helping less confident children with their social thinking and communication skills. During the last four years, I also led a team tasked with creating and implementing a transition programme for children moving from nursery to reception/school. Another aspect of my role was as the musical/performance coordinator. This involved leading workshops enabling the children to write a script, lyrics and make costumes for a yearly musical. I also facilitated art and cookery workshops during afternoon sessions across Year R to Year 4. Cookery lessons often took place outdoors using our Forest School facilities.
In previous roles in the UK, I taught both KS1 and KS2 children, particularly Years 2, 3 & 4 and led a curriculum subject area, Art and Display, across both key stages. I was the coordinator for a Comenius/Socrates project bringing together children from the UK, France and Norway to create a fairy tale book. I also arranged several school trips to France involving both pupils and parents. Through the Teaching German to Young Learners course, I was part of a pilot scheme to introduce a 2nd language to primary school children. I went on to teach German in year 2 classes using songs and role play/ puppet theatre as teaching methods.
I am currently working as a NTP tutor (National Tutoring Programme) in a primary school, teaching English and Maths to small groups of children and 1:1 (Years 1, 2, 3 & 4).
My Qualifications
I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS). I have a wide variety of courses related to my many years of experience. Can be forwarded upon request.
My Availability
I am available Monday-Friday full time. Flexible regarding weekend work.
