Story in a nutshell:
I moved into the city from a suburban district full of families and children over a year ago to pursue my education. Although I miss the close-knit community and hearing children playing outside, I am a passionate and enthusiastic (BSc)Hons Biological Science student, and I am sure I will find that same magic in the heart of London too.
I am the daughter of two amazing and very Turkish parents- this means yummy home food! Although my cooking isn’t as good as my mother’s, I love to cook because of her! I love to research new recipes and the most nutritious way to fuel my body (I guess this stems from my love of science).
Although nutrition takes my interest, in the future I hope to benefit society by taking part in Laboratory work- perhaps as a DNA Analyst or Microbiologist.
My Experience
My earliest experience with children began with my two cousins (the youngest of them was a precious baby girl, and her loving brother was a few years older than her at the time). I had help looking after the baby- so I was mainly responsible for the brother. A few of my responsibilities at the time were to provide meals three times a day, tutor, and do activities with my oldest cousin to prepare him for school. I took him to his extracurricular activities and tried to make every moment memorable and educational.
Similarly, I took on the responsibility of nannying for a few families during my academic hiatus. For references please do get in touch.
I also have work experience at a Primary School. My main responsibilities were keeping a tidy and organised classroom, assisting and leading small group activities (including focus groups), engaging with the children’s emotional needs, and encouraging good behaviour and academic excellence with positive reinforcements.
My Qualifications
4+ years experience as a part-time and full-time nanny.
Worked with children 2 months-12 years of age.
Worked with up to 2 children at the same time on my own.
I do not drink or smoke.
