My name is Lisa Grant, i live in Midsomer Norton and I am married to Richard and i have 3 children of my own, 2 daughters aged 25 and 23 (who doesnt live at home) and one son aged 20. We have 1 dog. Blue is a gorgeous 1 year old cockapoo who adores everyone. We love to be outside, going into the woods at the back of garden and going on lovely walks.
I have been Childminding for 18 years so have plenty of experience from new borns to teenagers :) I am proud to say that i am registered as OUTSTANDING by OFSTED for the third time, I am qualified with an NVQ Level 3 and am a Network Childminder with all the relevant training and qualifications. My husband is registered as my Assistant and is also First Aid Paediatric and Safeguarding trained. He will now be working with me full time so i will have additional availability on opening up some spaces. I am also Accredited which means that i can offer 2 year, 3/4 year funding. I document children's progress, learning and development using Tapestry which is an online learning journal. This means that you can log in at any time to see what your child has been doing and it can be shared with other family members,eg grandparents, so you can all see how your child is growing and developing. I take lots of photos so you can see what fun your child has had during their time with us.
My home is a 4 bed semi in Midsomer Norton. My garden backs directly onto woodland and open fields which is a fantastic resource for using our Mud Kitchen, finding 'beasties' watching the birds, deer and squirrells. I have an open plan living area with all the toys easily accessible. The children are cared for in the heart of the home and are treated as one of the family. We also have a BBQ hut so we can light the fire, toast marshmallows, play music, read and relax. It is decorated to celebrate special occasions such as halloween and Christmas, we have a snow machine too and Father Christmas likes to visit us as well :)
I attend various different playgroups throughout the week so the children get a wide, varied and stimulating play/learning experience. I have an annual pass to visit Longleaf Safari Park and also memebership to the National Trust so the children benefit from lots of exciting outings too.
School children enjoy playing games, doing crafts and having the opportunity to be able to play outside in the garden and woods. They can also do their homework or just sit and relax with a book or chat to their friends in a home from home environment.

My son jack who is 3 has been with lisa on a Monday since July. Jack absolutely loves it with lisa and his new friends and talk very highly of his days here. Although jack already attends other nursery’s I’ve really noticed the difference in jack general learning and progression since being with lisa just 1 day a week. I love how lisa makes learning fun and brings nature into the classroom.
Lisa is always so friendly and welcoming with a beautiful spacious warming home and wonderful garden.
I think it’s wonderful how lisa takes the children on day trips, recently it was longleat 😊
I hope to continue my Monday’s with lisa till jack starts school. If you are looking for a honest trustworthy childminder, lisa is the one.

Thank you so very much Alice, such lovely kind words xxx We love Jack coming here, he is a pleasure to care for x
Lisa has looked after my son since he was 10months old and is now just over 1. When I first started looking for a childminder her profile really stood out as she loves being outdoors, encourages free play and goes out on day trips.
C loves going to Lisa's and has a wonderful time playing with the other children, her home is amazing for free play as she has such an open space both inside and outside.
C has grown in confidence since starting at Lisa's and his character is showing through more and more, which I believe is because of the new situations and interacting he is doing with other children.
I was dreading going back to work when my son was 12 months old. We looked around months in advance for a childminder we liked. As soon as we met Lisa we knew our little boy would be in safe hands and our minds would be at ease. Not only could we clearly see how passionate and dedicated Lisa was about quality childcare, but her house was very clean, tidy with plenty of lovely outdoor space - which we knew would be a big hit with our son!
The settling in days went well, although he once got a bit upset and Lisa sang 'his song' to him to calm him, and he fell asleep in her arms - without me even telling her it was his song!
I'm always so excited to hear how his day has been, and Lisa is great at keeping you posted and often sending pictures during the day which puts a smile on my face. Within no time at all he was toddling down the corridor with barely a look backwards to say bye! I was so pleased and relieved that he was loving his time at Lisa's. He'd made so many lovely friends and talks about them all the time.
Lisa's passion for outdoor and creative free play has helped our son has really thrive, as he loves the outdoors and is such a happy, free spirit. Lisa also managed to help resolve the occasional angry tantrums and help him learn to share within the first few weeks. He's since been an angel and is a complete joy to be around. He also loves interacting with the slightly older children which is so lovely to see and hear about.
It really is like he goes to be looked after by a member of our family - but with all the benefits of Lisa's professional experience. Lisa often sends us interesting relevant articles or information on children's health/wellbeing/learning development, which is really helpful and it feels as if we are a team working together on our son's development. We even decided to keep him attending Lisa's whilst I'm on my maternity leave with our second child - as he loves his days there so much!
I honestly cannot recommend Lisa highly enough. We feel so lucky to have her support with our little boy, and have no doubt that you would feel the same way with your little one in her care.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review xxx It is greatly appreciated and means the world to me to know that you trust me with your gorgeous precious little boy who i adore xxx
Our daughter has been attending Lisa's since September 2016 before and after school. We are so pleased that we found her. We did look at a lot of childminders and nurseries but none of them felt right. As soon as I met Lisa, and went into her home, I knew this was the person I wanted to look after our daughter. The care and continuity that Lisa provides are outstanding and is above and beyond what we could have hoped for. I am always delighted to hear about the activities our daughter has done with Lisa and these are varied and spontaneous. Lisa's home is always inviting and clean with lots of outdoor space which my daughter expecially loves. I cannot recommend Lisa enough and I beleive she would be able to offer any child in her care everything that you as a parent could wish for; she certainly has for us.

Thank you so much. It makes such difference knowing that i am doing a good job and being appreciated. I love what i do and equally love the children, it makes it a happy home :) We have so much fun and lots of laughter, what more can we ask for in life? :)
Our little D has been with Lisa since I returned to work when she was 11months. I Contemplated returning to work because as a shift worker many nurseries were unable to offer flexible hours. It caused a great deal of stress. It was a big adjustment attempting to continue breast feeding, balancing my job and time with family & childcare needs at the start with very little support elsewhere. Lisa provided much support with this transition with settling in periods and having me visit during normal working hours to gauge what D will likely to be doing during the day. All the children in her care were happy & relaxed all united with each other.
It was apparent right from the first meeting that Lisa showed genuine pleasure in the company of our D/children. Her strengths are that she has a gentle respectful approach. The simplicity of her home environment makes it a natural, peaceful & a calm space for the children, it doesn’t feel overwhelming which was the comparison to other busy settings we visited. Lisa is very passionate about free play it is evident by how she has designed her outdoor space! The nature walks & our-door adventures are favoured over organised activities, she foster’s creativity, self reliance and happiness which supports our free spirited D!

Thank you so much for such a lovely review. My belief is that chidren learn more from free play and especially being outside. Nature teaches us so much and also gives a sense of well being. D is an absolute delight who we all love dearly xxx
