My Summary

My Experience

I am a qualified social worker and therefore I always have an up-to-date DBS. This role has given me experience in building relationships with children of all ages and learning to communicate win a way that works for each individual. I have a good understanding of child development and the nurture that children need.

During my time at university, I cared for an 11 month old child four days a week. I prepared healthy meals, created engaging activities and ensured a nurturing and safe environment. I changed her, dressed her and also settled her for sleep. I was able to create a strong bond with her, meaning that she trusted me and felt comfortable and happy being in my care. During the school holidays I also cared for her 4 year old brother, which means I feel able to safely care for multiple children of different ages and ensure they are all engaged with appropriate activities.

I have four nieces and nephews, who I spend a lot of time with. This has given me lots of hands on experience of caring for children from newborns to older children.

I have previously worked as an assistant ballet teacher for children aged 3-5 years old and I have also volunteered at a playground for children with disabilities.

As an individual I am positive, patient and approachable. I am able to remain calm under pressure and react quickly to the child's needs.
