About Me

Hi!

My name is Louise and I’m an Ofsted registered childminder based in Goring by Sea.

I provide a calm, nurturing, child led environment that includes a bright, welcoming dedicated playroom.

The setting is within walking distance to numerous local attractions and public transport links, including convenient access to the A259 and A27. Parking is free on a first come first serve basis.

As a small setting, children receive quality time and care focused on their individual needs and interests. We attend regular baby and toddler groups to help develop their personal, social and emotional skills and understanding of the world.

Children have a wide variety of resources and toys to choose independently including books, puzzles, dolls, dress up, blocks, musical instruments, cars, tractors, train sets, construction, recycled items, textures, chalks, crayons, wonder pens, heuristic items, small world play with role play areas.

Indoor group activities include messy play, playdough, sand / water play, painting, mark making, yoga, dance, nursery songs and rhymes, listening to multicultural music, playing instruments, teeth brushing, story time, safe technology time, labelling emotions and talking about feelings, helping prepare and choose healthy meals and snacks, watering herbs and plants.

Indoor climbing equipment is provided to enhance gross motor skills, problem solving, balance and risk taking in a safe environment for various ages and stages and accommodates children’s imagination and ideas to create tents, dens and castles leading to further creativity in role play and story times.

Daily outdoor activities include visits to a variety of parks, beaches, rock pools, woodlands, public gardens and farms with seasonal treasure hunts throughout the year. Weekly visits include toddler groups, music groups, yoga sessions, libraries, soft play, garden centres, meet ups with other childminders through Magic Minders and organised local community events. Outdoor safety is practiced together at all times on outings through role modelling, communication, action repetition, awareness and risk assessments.

My goal and motivation is that each child who attends Learn & Play Childminding feels a sense of belonging and acceptance, feels respected and valued, and feels seen and heard.

I provide parents with daily updates along with a weekly journal of what their child has been doing with a quick catch up with parents at the beginning and end of the day. Questionnaires are delivered at the end of each term for parents and children to share their thoughts, ideas and feedback. Children’s art and craft designs are proudly displayed around the setting and taken home at the end of each term.
