About Me

5+ years of experience, both volunteering and working experience in different caring sectors. A BA degree in early childhood education and am eager and able to accomplish and achieved a Golden Go Herts Award in recognition of my employability, enterprise skills, and commitment to social responsibility.
Had the drive and ambition to volunteer the month of July 2022 in Uganda, helping build a playground working with a team of other volunteers for one of their primary schools and being creative in their classroom activities. I've always had a natural caring instinct, whether that be for children, adults, or vulnerable people.

My Experience

I have always cared for children in one way or another since my final year of primary school during after school club as I've known the manager and her family for a long time, she knew I had the caring nature for children and sometimes let me help play with the younger children. As well as caring for her two grandchildren both at their house and the day care.
Having a big family I have helped looked after and babysit my baby cousins, playing with them, feeding them and sometimes changing them with my family.
Have done work expirience during college with reception, helping the teacher set up work for the children, changed them for P.E and helping in different subjects.
Worked in a nursery from children ages seven months to five years for a year caring for the different age groups as well as helping colleagues from helping feed and change the children, to conversing and observing the children. Coordinating and creating activities for play, crafts and outdoor activities and much more.
I volunteer with a girl scouting group where I have been given more of a chance to take over sessions and plan my own acitivies for the girls while still making sure to maintain a clean, tidy and friendly environment and adhering strictly to and abiding my the safeguarding policies and procedures.
I have a seasonal job at a children's activity camp where I have more than an early years instructor role sometimes helping with the older groups when planning activities or supervising and helping the instructor with their planned sessions when we are understaffed. I have helped managers more with the children when gaining their attention, filling out some forms and paperwork, registering children and parents, building relationships with parents to be aware of the development of the children. While also implementing the current EYFS framework.
Working in a special educational needs school with children from early years to secondary school who are either physically unable to move or have autism and being a teaching assitant I help aide the teachers with moving and handling, to interacting and showing the children how to use equipment for the activities or helping them with movements of their hands and feet whether that is during the sessions or as part of their physiotherapy. Incorporating their visual timetable for each sessions to help make them aware of what is happening next. Following their development plan on what they are able to do and what they need help with and more.

My Qualifications

Studied child development in secondary school and have a BA in Early Childhood Education

My Availability

As I am still working in full time in a special educational needs school in Ockendon can either be after school or during the weekdays but if there is a distance it need to be discussed as I would need to use public transport. I would mostly likely choose weekends to be of more convenience, so there are no set backs with the school or any type of inconvenience.

This will change soon as I would have more availability, so this can also be discussed for the coming future.
