About Me

Welcome to Laugh and learn.
My name is Beth. I am awaiting registration as a childminder in the north of Farnham. I live with my Husband and my 3 children, my two daughters are 14 and 5 and my son is 12. We also have our lovely Labrador- Marley who the kids love!
We are on a quiet lane away from a main road with lots of indoor and outdoor space for little feet to crawl, walk, run, explore and play!
I am a qualified Nurse, with 20 years of experience. I love Nursing and it will always be a part of my life but now I am excited to be taking on a new path. I have always had a passion for child development. My experience from being a Mum of 3 highlighted just how much I love being around children and the vital role us as adults have to play in giving them the best start in life. My passion and interest within this grew once I was working as a childminder in the years of 2022-2023. I went on to complete a Specialist Public Health Nursing degree in Early years at Surrey University in 2024.
I gained a wealth of in depth knowledge of working with families and children to best support their needs helping to ensure every child has the best start in life and supporting child development. From conception to the age of 2 are the building blocks to life and are considered the most important time in a child's life to support their development. I see it as a vital role and one of privilege to work with your child and you to best nurture and support this.

Whilst I loved this role, I missed working with children on a floor level and being part of their early education journey. I will be able to consolidate all that I have learnt to help your little ones thrive.
To provide a service that gives each and every child a safe, warm, nurturing and an enabling environment to reach their full potential will be hugely rewarding and a journey that I am very committed and passionate about.
I am friendly, kind and caring and can offer great communication skills that will enable us to work in partnership to best meet the needs of your child. I like to see myself as an extension of you.

I know from experience how hard it can be to leave your child, so will endeavour to make the transition as easy and stress free as possible by following my settling in policy, always putting each child at the centre and go at their pace along with yours as parents/carers.

I have a lovely bright play room with lots of toys and resources, that I will rotate to keep little minds curious and engaged. A spacious kitchen that leads onto a big garden, again that will have equipment and play opportunities set up.
Activities will include free play or child led play so individual interests can be recognised and supported, messy and sensory play. Adult led play, including Rhymes and singing, reading books together in the reading corner, arts and crafts, scavengers hunts, cooking and baking, little sports days and much more. The Statutory Framework for the early foundation stage will be embedded throughout my practice.
We will go out on little adventures each day, either to the lovely local parks, Alice Holt, Frensham ponds, the local library, playgroups, farms, Rushmoore play gym which was always a firm favourite with mine. These are just to name a few.
I will provide all home cooked meals and healthy snacks ensuring a balanced, nutritional diet. I have the relevant training in food hygiene and safety. I love cooking and baking and feel it is so important we include children so there will be lots of that!
I was previously registered with a childminding agency which was fantastic, however I am now in the process of registering with Ofsted. I hope to open in late May 2025! I am a member of PACEY and will be using the Kinderly app which will make communication between us seamless and super easy.
Choosing the right environment for your child can be tough and daunting so I welcome you to come and have a look around so we can learn more about each other.
I will always strive to provide a warm and safe space, along with my nurturing approach to allow children to feel secure in my home and have that trust in me, then to have lots of fun and laughter through play to best support their learning and development.
