About Me

I am a responsible, calm, patient and energetic individual. Due to being part of a large family, caring for children comes naturally to me and I often babysit young children in my personal life. I have also been a primary caregiver for my younger siblings whereby most of my teenage years were dedicated to feeding, changing, playing with, teaching and looking out for my siblings.

For these reasons and my educational background in early years, I am confident in my ability to care for and nurture children from 6 months to 10 years of age. Given that I specialise within early years, have sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and rich experience with this age group, I am more inclined to offer my services for babies and younger children. Additionally, I would prefer to care for one baby/ child as this would ensure I can meet their needs effectively and give them my full attention.

Within my services, my utmost priority would be to provide a safe and stimulating environment in which your child can confidently learn, play and grow. I will work around your child’s routine, interests and needs, including diet, special needs etc. I would further like to build a good rapport with parents and communicate openly and effectively to ensure the baby/ child’s best interests are at the heart of my caring duties.

My Experience

Besides my personal experience with caring for younger siblings and cousins, I have extensive placement experience working in schools and early years settings. In particular, I was assigned two placements whilst completing my degree and Level 3 Early Years Educator, comprising of a private Nursery and Primary School.

I gained invaluable experience in relation to the care and learning provided for the babies and young children within the private Nursery, which varied according to the baby, toddler and preschool rooms. I worked closely with the staff to provide warm, responsive care and learning opportunities for the babies and children from start to end of their day in the nursery, assisting with all aspects of their learning and care. This varied from feeding, changing and settling the babies for a nap to leading group activities and extending play experiences for individual children using a range of open-ended resources. I also conducted observations on the babies and children to assess if they were meeting EYFS targets and identifying any areas they needed further support in.

During my placement at the Primary School, I observed groups of children at play, planned and conducted activities according to observations, followed by writing up reflective evaluations of how children’s learning was extended through my activities. I also identified various opportunities used in the setting to support children’s early literacy and mathematical development, reflecting on the nature of these activities and how they engaged with the children. I further tracked a child’s progress over the course of the placement using different methods of formative and summative observations and assessments.

As for my previous employment as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School, I worked with a wide range of children, including a Year 3 class, Year 1 class as well as younger children when covering staff absences at the nursery. During my employment, I supervised my allocated year group during break and lunch duty, managing behaviour and ensuring children are safe. Within class, I supported children that needed additional support, particularly those with SEN needs like autism. This included emotional support as well as academic.

My Fees

  • Babysitting from £10.00 per hour

My preference would be £10-£15 per hour, as I believe I have a good educational background and experience with children and early years. However, I am open to negotiation as I understand that each family has their own individual circumstances.
