About Me
Hi! My name is Shay, and I am a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh, and I am looking to start a job as a part-time nanny for a family in Edinburgh! I am originally from the United States, but I have lived in Edinburgh for almost five years now and consider the city my home. Some of my hobbies include painting, sewing, and knitting! I would love to teach any little ones these skills if they are interested. I am open to any questions you may have, and I would love to go for a coffee to share more about myself and learn about your family!
My Experience
I have previous experience working with children from babysitting, volunteering, and mentoring programs that involved children under the age of 14. These experiences have taught me that I love working with children - whether it be homework, going to the park, or teaching them new skills like sewing, knitting, or painting. I have certifications in Developing Children's Learning, Recording Children Development, Safeguarding Children and Designated Lead, Leading and Managing a Childminding Setting, and Understanding and Working with the EYFS, and I by mid-March, I will be certified in Paediatric First Aid Care, which would be compliant with Ofsted. I can provide proof of certification upon request. My hours are flexible, so I am open to working with YOUR schedule! My Qualifications
I am currently working towards getting my childminder qualifications. I have finished the training courses, and I will be certified in Paediatric First Aid by the end of March. The training courses include Developing Children's Learning, Recording Children Development, Safeguarding Children and Designated Lead, Leading and Managing a Childminding Setting, and Understanding and Working with the EYFS. I will be completing a DBS check to comply with Ofsted requirements.
