About Me

Hi, we’re looking forward to finding someone to help us. I have an 11 month old son, born early July 2022. Our house was in the midst of a DIY project when I got pregnant and some things still need finishing. We’re looking for someone to look after him in our house for 25 hours a week for 5 weeks, although this may be extended. The exact hours can be flexible but needs to be Mon afternoon, Weds and Thursday full days and Fri afternoon.

I will be at home at the same time but rushing around trying to get stuff finished! Initially I would like someone to play with him at home but as trust is built then trips to the local swings etc would be great. I’ve never been separated from him so this is very new to me too.

We use Montessori methods, gentle parenting and discipline, we validate feelings and basically treat him like a capable little person with valid opinions who deserves respect. He’s breastfed on demand and boobs to sleep for his naps, he also exclusively contact naps. So I would need to boob him to sleep and then hand him over to be held for his naps. We don’t follow a strict routine, we kind of just take each day as it comes.

We have 2 cats and 2 dogs so we need an animal lover. They will all want to say hello and one of the cats especially is Fred’s best friend so is very likely to be right there on the floor with you, trying to lick you and sit on you! The dogs are a cocker and a terrier so not big or scary.

We do baby led weaning and Wilf just eats like us to be honest. We’ve never bought any baby food, he just has what we have. I would definitely prefer someone who’s done a baby first aid course.

Someone kind, caring and fun, who’s happy to follow our lead on the words we use/avoid and how we speak to him would be great. We’re very excited to meet someone and to get our house finished!!
