About Me
I grew up and still live in a little village outside of Oxford, with my mum, dad and two younger siblings. I went to school in Woodstock so I had the privilege of running/walking around Blenheim for my PE lessons (a view I don’t think I’d ever get sick of) I left school at 16 and then did an apprenticeship in childcare in a nursery in Oxford which was really fun but unfortunately they couldn’t take me on after my apprenticeship had finished as they didn’t have the availability for me. So after I finished the apprenticeship I went and did travel and tourism in college for a year and then I just did retail work and other things on the side for a few years before saving and going to Thailand.
I did camp Thailand so that’s where like-minded people go out and teach basic English to Thai children in schools we only did the teaching for around a week but we also went to elephant reserves and went water rafting, we did some Mai Thai which was so much fun I was there all in all around a month and I stayed mostly up in the north but then I would go back now and explore more of the island. I got the real buzz for Thailand and my family and I was fortunate enough to go a few weeks after I got back to go to South Africa to visit my aunt who was living over there at the time she has now since moved back with her husband and her two children but it was an amazing experience, I would say for anyone who hasn’t travelled far I would suggest you go and do it. My plans for the future now is that I want to spend a few months in Bali because I heard it’s such a beautiful place to be. I loved the culture in Thailand and my friends have also said that they felt the love for Balinese people.
My Experience
i am currently in a position with a family Monday to Thursday during school term time 2-7:30 and 9-7 Monday to Wednesday during holidays. I hope this could potentially help with some families and this position is only until 25th of august as I am only covering maternity leave. I also absolutely love working with children I have been in a nursery setting where I have been in the preschool room and I have had the role of seeing children grow through the nursery and leave to go off to school and I love to see their progress that they have made may be from the communication skills to the mathematics and literacy skills I also love the fact that I am going to be part of their developmental journey through their life and I am going to be impacting what this child will learn. I also love that each child has their own unique personality and I love to get to know each individual child on a different level and see what their interests are and thoughts of the world at the moment and how sweet and innocent they are and how we the two of us the children and myself can grow together.
