Nanny in Weston
My Summary
About Me
Hi there!
I have over five years of work experience as a babysitter of children between one to nine years old. Moreover, I have trained and, for more than two years, volunteered as a youth leader at holiday camps for teens. Additionally, I have worked as a private language tutor for teens up to fourteen years old.
I am fluent in English, French, and German. I am a highly compassionate person with a great passion for non-violent communication. I take playtime just as seriously as your children do and I love inventing worlds together with them using just our imagination. I am energetic, proactive, and always up for trying new activities. I absolutely love seeing children explore and learn through activities such as crafting, outdoor adventures, or cooking their favourite meals. Besides that, I am an absolute bookworm, and I won’t miss an opportunity to read a book or tell a story. My calm and patient nature generally has a very soothing effect on children, toddlers, and babies.
I have recently moved to WSM to live with my partner. I have a B.Sc. degree in psychology and I am currently studying yoga therapy and Ayurvedic medicine. In recent years, I have gained a great deal of experience working as a mental health professional as well as in various environments such as restaurants, wellness and yoga studios. However, I miss working with children and therefore, I am looking to start working as a part-time nanny alongside my studies.
My Experience
Caring for and interacting with children around me, whether in the context of babysitting or within my family, has always felt natural to me. At the age of thirteen, I completed a babysitter course and started babysitting for various families in my neighbourhood.
For one of my jobs, I babysitted a one-year-old girl called Hilda. I cared for her during the day for approximately four hours per week. My responsibilities included changing nappies, playing together, and taking her to the children’s playground.
Another one of my jobs involved babysitting 2 siblings, two-year-old Juli and four-year-old Klara. I would babysit them once a week at night-time. My duties included: Getting them ready for bed, reading and telling them stories, and watching over them at night. The siblings tended to argue with each other, and part of my role involved settling their disputes and restoring peace.
At around the same time as I started caring for Hilda, Juli and Klara, I began babysitting a girl named Sophie. I was Sophie’s babysitter from when she was two years old up until she was nine. Over the years of my caring for her, we developed a strong bond. My babysitting tasks varied widely and consisted of putting her to bed, helping at her birthday parties, and playing and having dinner together. I would also help her with her evening routine which involved getting ready for bed, reading her books, and telling her stories. Sophie loved lullabies so, I always used to sing her to sleep.
Whilst working as a babysitter, I also trained to become a youth leader, and, by the age of fifteen, I started my new role as a youth leader volunteer. The role involved organizing holiday camps and weekend getaways for children aged ten to fourteen. I also developed entertainment programmes and supervised large groups of kids during indoor and outdoor games and expeditions to cities and leisure centres. Along with my organizational and supervision duties, I would also prioritise spending time with children on a more personal level and make sure to tend to their individual needs.
In the two years leading up to my A-levels, I worked as a private language tutor for children up to fifteen years old.
Since moving to Bath in March 2023, I have been working as a nanny for two lovely families with two children each (boys and girls between 2 and 9 years old).
