My Summary

My Experience

Growing up, I always babysat my younger cousin who is 6 years younger than me. I would often be asked to play with her, take her to the local park and get her ready for bed.
As part of my D of E, I volunteered at my local children's church, where I looked after children from the ages of 4 to 10. This role entailed helping children with activities, maintaining their entertainment and keeping them happy. I volunteered every Sunday for 1 hour and often came in early and stayed later to help set up and pack away.
I have also babysat outside my family with children who lived locally. The two main families I babysat had children aged 5, 6, and 9. These families normally asked me to babysit between 2-3 times a week for about 8 hours at a time. I would cook/ finish cooking their dinner, entertain them and settle them for bed. For one of the families, I had to look after 2 sisters. This often presented challenges of defusing disagreements and keeping them both happy. Although this was difficult at times, I found that I was able to settle them both, made sure that their disagreements were resolved and were happy before bed.
Over the Easter holidays of this year, I was an activity leader at a children's holiday club. I would work for 8 hours every day and often helped out at either the early bird club or after club. This job required great enthusiasm, high energy and constantly thinking on my feet. I had to set up and run activities and adapt them depending on their age group. To ensure every child was having fun, I would have to think of games or competitions to keep them engaged. Maintaining their safety was also an important aspect of the job where I had to be alert constantly throughout the day.

My Qualifications

I have 9 GCSE's at grades 5-9 (C - A**) and 4 A-levels at grades C - A. I am currently a final year university student, and I hope to graduate this summer with an undergraduate bachelor of science degreee.

My Availability

I am available to work Monday - Saturday for the majority of the day. Over summer, I will also be working at a children's holiday club so my availability will change over the 6 weeks that it runs for.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £11.50 per hour

My fees are based on the national minimum wage for my age, and the amount of experience I have.
