About Me

I am kind, creative, sensitive, nurturing and caring.
I am a reliable and punctual person, strengths which I have proven by my long term career within education. I am polite and good natured and possess good people skills, I have strong communication skills through working with people of all ages, from adults to children.

I am a good team player, maintaining positive relationships with the staff and children I work with on a daily basis. I am a very creative person, and enjoy reading a wide variety of novels in my spare time, I have always loved writing, whether making notes from books or writing short stories. I am passionate about art as a hobby, and I enjoy drawing, painting and all aspects of art and crafts, I have exhibited my work at Woodville Halls Gravesend and also at What If Gallery in Dartford. I also sell my art successfully online.

I enjoy yoga, practising mindfulness, and gardening. Being outside in nature makes me happy. I am also very organised, passionate and determined, attributes evidenced my my commitment to studying for a degree alongside full time work - and achieving the highest grades of distinction in each module so far. My creativity and background in the arts means that I like to encourage children to have fun; be uninhibited, messy and utilise art as a tool to express themselves in a positive way. I also enjoy coming up with creative activities. I feel that the wealth of expertise and knowledge I have gained working as a teaching assistant/nursery assistant across all ages ( 2-10) is a valuable asset. In this sense I am confident when interacting with children, behaviour management, and building positive relationships with them.

I always wanted to work with children. I am an older sister, and I am the oldest of 9 cousins. Ever since childhood, I have always loved to look after, help and nurture children. I am committed to being the constant friendly face in the children’s lives within my current role at school, making them smile, encouraging their learning and always listening to their point of view. I believe it is of the utmost importance to build strong relationships with children, being their positive role model and remaining a calm and secure presence within their lives – as my degree and career experience has taught me that emotional wellbeing is the building block for successful development to take place. I have enjoyed my time as a teaching assistant, however I feel that I am ready for a change and I am excited at the prospect of nurturing and helping a family to grow by becoming a Nanny. I feel this role holds less emphasis on data and academic results - and prioritises the care, guidance and nurture of children by becoming part of the family, which is what I am most passionate about.

My Experience

I have worked within the field of childcare for 8 years. I have Montessori Nursery experience, working as a key person with 2-3 year olds. I am currently employed and have worked as Teaching Assistant and HLTA, providing teaching cover within schools for the last 7 years: working with children as a responsible adult and role model, encouraging and shaping children into future positive members of our society. Teaching areas of curriculum, working with groups and leading activities, supporting the class teacher. Organising classroom and resources, keeping learning environment tidy and accessible for the children.

My Qualifications
