About Me
Hello, my name is Anya and I am 23 year old student in Cardiff. I am in my third year studying singing at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I see myself as a confident, positive person with a bubbly personality. I really enjoy being organised and using my skills to create a happy environment for children. From a young age I have had a passion to work with children, I find real enjoyment teaching and spending time with them. I particularly love working with younger children from the ages of 1-8 as this is where I have most of my experience and where I find my skills are best suited.
I have grown up babysitting my three younger cousins, Leo 13, Johan 8 and Oskar 6. They live around the corner from me in a little village not far from the Lake District. I consider them to be more like siblings to me than cousins and I love spending time with them. I have helped look after them since they were babies so I feel very confident looking after young children and I'm definitely used to changing lots of dirty nappies.
I have been driving for 5 years now with no claims on my insurance and I have my car with me in Cardiff.
I am open to meeting before the job whether this be on video call or in person as I want to ensure comfortability with me looking after your child.
My Experience
From 2016-2017 I volunteered at nurseries/primary schools. In these jobs I would work with children between the ages of 1 to 7 and at the nursery I would help the children get ready, make them meals, play with them and lead activities such as arts and crafts and other educational activities. At the primary school, I would help children read and assist the teacher with a few activities in lessons
From January 2020 - March 2020 I worked as an Au-pair in Italy looking after two children aged 7 and 11. In this job I lived with the family and helped the parents with school drop off/pick up, bedtimes, after-school activities, homework, teaching English and occasionally helping with cooking and cleaning.
From November 2019 - December 2019 I worked as a Christmas elf in Barton Grange Garden centre (local to my home). In this job I had to entertain children and their families in a variety of different roles.
From June 2019 - September 2019 I worked at Camp Kennebec (a special needs summer camp in Canada). In this job I had to provide 24 hour care to a variety of children and young adults with learning difficulties. Not only did I teach a variety of activities but I also slept in a cabin with up to 12 children at a time. I was placed in multiple cabins from young teenage boys to teenage girls and younger boys aged 7-12. This job entailed ensuring a group of assigned campers were supervised and safe. I had to utilise appropriate behaviour management techniques. All responsibilities were performed in a manner that guaranteed the safety of campers
From June 2022 - September 2022 I worked at Camp Nock-A-Mixon (a sleep away children's camp in America). In this role I was a camp counsellor for a group of 8 girls aged 7. I slept in the same cabin with them and helped them do chores such as make their bed and clean the cabin, I would help them get ready for the day, put them to bed, read with them, play games with them, teach them and much more. I would go with them to all their meals and sit with them. During the day I would teach activities to children in the whole camp such as gymnastics, swimming, theatre and high ropes.
Within my degree I also do an outreach module in which I lead singing and drama workshops for children aged 5-11. I teach educational but fun activities that engages children to act and sing and step out of their comfort zones.

My Availability
I won’t be in Cardiff for the summer but I come back in the second week of September. I will have a better idea of my schedule nearer the time as I am a university student.
