About Me
Hi, I am an (almost) 50 year old woman who has looked after or worked with children all my adult life (including my own children) If I had to describe myself I would say I am kind, generous, caring and do not take myself too seriously. I live on a farm and apart from the business side of the farm I spend my spare time with my family and 4 dogs getting out and about in the countryside. I have always loved the company of babies and children and my babysitting duties for friends and family are extensive!
My Experience
Following the completion of an NNEB course in 1995 at Beverley College I started my career as a Nursery Nurse working in both a school then a nursery. I then moved to work for the council as a Family Support Worker which became my career for 22 years as I enjoyed lots of experiences supporting families with challenges they may face such as behaviour issues, mental or physical health issues or community difficulties. I then moved homes from East to North Yorkshire so moved jobs and became a Nanny/mother’s help for a family with a newborn baby and 2 businesses to run. I have loved this role nurturing the little boy and supporting his parents to be the best they can be by being part of their ‘team’. He is now a confident, capable boy who is participating in lots of out of school and after school activities which means I am at a loose end looking for another family who would benefit from a kind, caring, patient, child focused team member. Lots of extra courses attended relating to Early Years, Child Development, Emotional Health of children, Child Protection, Health and Safety etc. (Certificates available)
