About Me

Hello, my name is Gosia and I have worked as a nanny in London as well as USA for over 18 years. I was in my last nanny position for over 12 years! I have experience with newborns, twins and children with special educational needs up to the age of 12. I am looking for a part time position (between Monday-Friday) Three days a week would be ideal but I am willing to increase days/hours for the right family.
I have worked as a nanny from 2001 in USA and in 2007 I have moved to UK. I have worked in London from 2007 until 2019 and became a mom myself. My daughter is 4 and is starting reception in September therefore I have decided it is time for me to find a new nanny position. Three day a week position would suit me perfectly at this time but I am willing to be a bit flexible on that. If I could drop off my daughter in the mornings to school or breakfast club it would be great and my husband would pick her up so I can have a full day at work. If during half terms and holidays I could bring my daughter with me it would be a bonus but I have found a lot of local clubs that she will enjoy otherwise.

My Experience

Nanny to children between newborn and 12 years old. Experience with weaning, potty training, sleep training and healthy and nutritious meal preparation for children. Help with homework, play dates, and various indoor and outdoor activities including trips to museums and art galleries as well at theatres or baby and toddler groups. Organising appointments and doctors visits and general assistance with whatever is needed for the children like shopping or preparing a gift for bday parties etc.
Some of the responsibilities include
- general looking after children and their wellbeing
- weaning
- potty training
- preparing healthy and nutritious meals
- researching and planning local activities for little ones
- organising play dates, going to park, museums, theatre or art galleries
- organising doctors appointments, dentists, vaccinations, hairdressers etc
- taking children to appointements
- food shopping for children
- buying birthday gifts etc
- buying school uniforms and shoes
- buying everyday clothing or things they needed at home or school
- drop off and pick up from school and other activities including organising and scheduling
- help with homework, phonics, reading or math etc
In general whatever children needed I made sure that it was taken care of.
I enjoy working with children and, although I admit, it can be challenging at times I never shy away from such a challenge. When working witch children, I find it extremely rewarding to dedicate my time to finding effective solutions to issues at hand to encourage independence and positive experiences for children.
Throughout the years I have worked with many children and families where I needed to think out of the box to respond to their needs. This included for example reinforcing new rules or developing tactics for families to ensure easy transitions and creating new routines to make days less stressful for parents as well as children. With some families I needed to learn new sets of skills, for example, how to interact with a child with autism to help him learn new social skills or help him transition from one activity to another with less stress and anxiety. With another child I have been confronted with their learning difficulties and I was very enthusiastic to learn about different ways of teaching and absorbing knowledge to ensure that they do not fall behind when making their first steps in reading and maths. Finally as a dedicated and determined carer, I was able to help a child with dyslexia by employing kinaesthetic learning which proved to be a huge successI.
I feel very strongly about ensuring that children are listened to and employing different techniques for educational or social development depending on children’s abilities improves their learning as well as their wellbeing in general. By making children happier and healthier I am convinced that I am helping them secure positive prospects for their future. I believe that mental health and wellbeing of children is crucial for their development and wellbeing and as I have learned on my last course, Understanding Mental Health in the Early Years, for children with learning difficulties this may prove eleven more problematic. I believe that each and every child should be helped and encouraged to reach their full potential and by doing so improving their life.
I work closely with parents to learn their preferred parenting style and apply that to my everyday care of children. I understand that leaving your children with a nanny can be hard and I ensure everyone feels comfortable and that there is plenty of communication.
