About Me
I am a Durham local who has just relocated back home after studying in London for 3 years and working as a special needs teaching assistant for the last 2. Through my experience in numerous sectors of education and childcare, I have enjoyed creating a supportive environment which allows children to grow in confidence and access a rich education, particularly expressing themselves through the arts as I am a musical theatre graduate. I take pride in getting to know children in order to better understand their needs and I aim to broaden my experience in order to support children in all aspects of their learning and development.

Responsibilities included
• Working 1 to 1 with children with SEN. In my first academic year I worked with a year 6 student with complex social, emotional and mental health needs as well as cognition and learning needs. In my second year I worked with a year 6 child with Down syndrome and additional medical needs. In my most recent role I have been working with a year 1 child with challenging behaviours which has given me great opportunities to develop my de-escalation skills. I have also completed multiple training courses which I have listed in the qualifications section.
