Hello!
My name is Emily, I have an amazing 8 month old daughter (who may have to tag along with me initially, role dependent), and moved to Hampshire around 18 months ago. I am very new to the world of nannying - however I have vast experience working with children in a variety of settings, specialising in working with those with additional needs. Although new to the industry, I am yours to mould, as well as bringing joy, warmth and enthusiasm. The majority of my CPD and training has now expired (where does the time go post-baby?!) However, I am willing to put myself though whatever courses and training that matches the role prior to commencing. I am on the DBS update service. Full references available.
My Experience
My most recent role was working in an SEN school based in Devon, as an LSA and Lead First Aider. It was my role to support students with ASD and/or social/emotional needs on a 1:1 basis, as well as assist teaching staff in the classroom setting as well as run my own smaller sensory sessions. I learnt a great deal of successful therapeutic strategies following the THRIVE model, as well as supporting vocational activities such as cooking, forest school and trips to the local farm - enabling fantastic opportunities for learning in the community. The majority of the children I worked alongside had EHCPs, and potentially high risk behaviours.
I am a qualified Swimming Teacher, and have taught swimming to children aged between 4 and 15. Other roles I have had in the past include Lifeguarding and Activity Instructor, all of which revolved around creating fun and safe environments for children.
My Qualifications
I hold 6 GCSEs - 5 Cs and 1 B. I am qualified STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher.
