About Me
I am newly registered childminder with the Care Inspectorate. I have been working with the Scottish Childminding Association for the last year as part of their “get in to childminding” program.
My career history has been predominantly in Retail and Hospitality Management.
However, after having my own family I wanted to pursue a career working with children.
I have gained experience over the past 6 years through my own children and in a variety of settings.
I live in the Clermiston Area where we are spoilt for green space. I live with my husband and my 3 children aged 6, 5 and 2. My husband works in the care industry in the private sector. My eldest son participates in Judo and rugby which he attends weekly. My daughter is a big fan of gymnastics and being creative. My youngest boy is very outdoorsy and loves a muddy puddle.
I would consider myself to be a friendly and polite individual who is passionate about providing a nurturing environment for children. I am an outgoing individual, who strives to give children the best experiences possible.
Activities we like to do, involve going exploring in the forest. Visiting playgrounds in Davidson Mains, Costorphine and Clermiston area. At home we like to use the swing and slide set in our garden, play with water tables, messy play and crafts. We are also members of the Zoo and aim to visit at least once a month. We visit local libraries and local play cafes for rainy days.
My Experience
Although I have gained most of my experience over the past 6 years. I come from a large family and have 15 years experience caring for my nieces and nephews in their parents absence, helping when I can.
I have a certificate in Forest Kindergarten and enjoy sharing the benefits of the outdoors with the children I care for.
I am booked in for a First Aid course the beginning of May and this will be updated on completion.
Whilst on Maternity Leave I studied my HNC in Childhood Practice. This experience taught me about child development in the Early Years, theoretical approaches and legislation in safeguarding children. I learned about strategies that underpin legislation such GIRFEC as an approach to protecting children’s well-being.
Having previously worked in school nurseries as an Early Years Assistant, I have worked with children with additional needs and have experience supporting children with their transitions into P1 and P2.
My Qualifications

My Availability
Available between the hours of 8am - 5pm from the 22nd of April. Please contact me via text message. Whilst, I aim to respond within 24 hours, I am working throughout the week so please keep this in mind. Whilst my rate may be slightly higher, I only have capacity for maximum of 5 children currently in line with the Care Inspectorate regulations. This is due to my initial visit involving us not using our garden as it is undergoing maintenance. However, we will still spend a perfectly adequate amount of time outdoors.

My Fees
- Childminding from £9.00 per hour
To be paid monthly via direct debit. Meals provided. Rates are reduced to £8.50 per hour if parent/caregiver opts to provide their own meals and snacks.
Please note these rates also include any baby toddler groups we attend as I like to give children these social experiences.
