About Me

I am currently working for the Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust as a patient access assistant on the Maternity Ward. My daily tasks include booking patients appointments and registering referrals using EPR, revenue cycle, power chart, viewpoint. I answer the phone, attend to emails as well as working on the front desk, checking patients in and out and making follow up appointments. This job requires me to work in a team as well as an individual in a busy and fast pace environment. I feel that I am good at communicating with others and am quite outgoing and have experience in working with customers. I am organised and a perfectionist, I always like to get things right. I also work effectively in teams as well as an individual. I am a punctual individual who is reliable and I am a friendly person. I am a motivated individual and like to set reachable goals for me to achieve. I think I would be suitable for this job role because I am a good communicator, hardworking, motivated and take a lot of interest in my work as well as being punctual and reliable. I am also a caring and compassionate person. Furthermore, I really would love to get back into the nannying industry, having a break from nannying has truly made me strive to get back into doing what I love and where my heart is at. I have a lot to offer and am up for a challenge as well as making sure the children have fun but also have a structured routine.

Aptitudes, Qualities and Abilities
I am a supportive person; I share my knowledge and experience and am willing to spend my time
and energy on anyone who needs it. I always choose empathy over judgement. I come across as reliable and patient, taking a steady approach to accomplish my end goals. I make sure that things are done to the highest standard but often go beyond what is required. I am imaginative and observant by observing others emotional states and seeing things from their perspective. My imagination is quite practical however I do find things fascinating and aspiring. I come across as quite enthusiastic and outgoing about supporting others and making a difference to the lives of others, this is shown in my current job role of being a nanny. I am also loyal and hardworking, I like to work hard to reach my goals in many situations; the enthusiasm I have grows into loyalty which allows me to form an emotional attachment to the things I have dedicated myself too. I don't like to fail which means that working hard and being a perfectionist is a huge part of my everyday life. I have good motivation to reach these goals. I am kind and caring and am willing to help others in need. I also feel that I am a punctual person because I always turn up on time wherever I am needed. I like to work with structure.

My Experience

Full Time Patient Access Assistant
July 2022 - Present

Full Time Nanny
Self-employed - May 2018 to July 2022
I worked full time and part time as a child nanny in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. I looked after three young children starting at 10 months through to 7 years old so I have a range of experience with different ages. On a daily basis I made sure they were safe and happy at all times. I took them out to socialise with other children at groups as well as taking them to the park, soft play areas and cafes; taking into consideration their child development. I made sure that they had three meals a day which were healthy and balanced and as well as making sure during term time the children arrived to school on time each day.

Dispenser
Temporary role
October 2021 – December 2021
Last October I worked in the dispensary at Islip Surgery on a part time basis for three months temporarily to help the team prepare for Christmas. I used the system EMIS to check patients records and prepare any medication they needed whether that be a repeat prescription or an emergency prescription, for example antibiotics. I also had to organise and pick medication off the shelf according to the prescription labels and scan each medication separately so that it was ready for when the patient came to collect. This required a lot of concentration and organisation.

Willow Cottage Nursery - Eynsham
July 2016 to May 2018
I worked at Willow Cottage for almost two years, during this time I completed my Level 2 qualification in Child Care. I had to ensure that the children felt safe and comfortable during each day as well as ensuring they got the most out of each day. I had to communicate with the children, staff and parents on a daily basis as well as with the management team. Furthermore, I had to undertake cleaning duties as well as food preparation. Finally I had to use the eylog to carry out observations on the children so that the parents were able to see their development.

Carer
Care for Carmen Parker - Oxford
April 2015 to current
I care for a young girl who has Cerebral Palsy on a part time basis. I have to ensure that this young girl is safe, I also have to be kind and caring as well as being supportive when she needs help. I also need to be friendly and have a positive attitude when I am with her to make sure she feels comfortable and can trust me. I take her out to socialise which she is unable to do on her own and she benefits massively from this.

Waitress
The Blenheim Guest House and Tea Rooms March 2013 to March 2015
March 2013 - March 2015
I worked here in Woodstock on a Saturday from 9:00 - 5:30. I worked here for two years and enjoyed it very much. I have experience in customer service, meeting the customer needs, being organised and hardworking. I am willing to learn new skills and being motivated is one of my strong points. Part of my duties involved housekeeping to a very high standard. I also had to carry out duties such as waitressing, taking orders, using the till, answering the phone, preparing the food and often making it.
