About Me
My name is Anishah Ahmed. I am 25 years old, and I am the second of three children. I studied Level 3 Health and Social Care at the City of Islington College and carried out all my placement work within nursery settings. After finishing my studies, I went on to work at a private preschool and nursery based in Islington. I started as a part-time bank staff while also working a retail job until I was offered a full-time position not long after my probation period. I stayed at the nursery for 5 long years and enjoyed every single moment. I got to work with babies from the age of 6 months up to preschool children, which was great gaining all the experience and learning all the different development stages of each key child. During my last 6 months of working at the nursery, I had reduced my hours to start part-time after-school nannying with a lovely family in Islington whom I'm still with and enjoyed. I babysit for families who attended my previous nursery and have had many referrals from parents to their friends and families. I love working with children as it makes me feel at peace, but also because I have a real passion for kids and their different stages of development, It makes me happy to help families maintain a smooth running of the home as well as make sure the children are on key with social development and interaction. My plan for the future is to become a school health advisor as it's got a mix of both healthcare and childcare. I am an enthusiastic individual, and I want to make a difference in the quality of life of vulnerable people of all ages with health conditions, but I also try my best to share awareness with those who do not have health conditions and to enlighten them on how they could make a difference to an individual’s life, who has health conditions by just doing little things that count.
My Experience
Since 2014 I have gained experience working with children as it was part of my college courses. I had done 3 years of placement in nurseries and a primary school to achieve my overall grade and pass my courses. My main job role is as a part-time after-school nanny for children aged between 1 - 10 years. This mainly involved collecting children from nursery and or schools and taking them to after-school clubs or home safely in my sole care. I would then offer the kids a light snack and allow them to rest and have free play for a short time. After that, I would ensure homework time takes place, and I would help, encourage and praise the children once homework was done. I tried my best to make home learning fun to keep the children interested. Once homework time was completed, I would prepare dinner for the children. This meant I would prepare fresh meals for the children as instructed by the parents. Once dinner was complete, I would then move on to the bath time routine. This involved making sure the children would take their daily shower/bath and slowly prepare for bed. For smaller children aged 1-5, I would supervise and help them as their safety is paramount. By the time bath time was complete, parents would arrive home, and I would give them a handover about how the children's day went and make sure any important messages from school or nursery is passed on. I would then say goodbye to the children and tell them I will see them tomorrow. When I worked in a nursery setting for five years plus as a key worker, my main roles were planning out daily activities and logging the development stages of every child.

I charge by the child so if there is 2 or 3+ there will be an increase accordingly.
